A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE BRAZOS RIVER
AUTHORITY TO PROCEED WITH PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING,
PERMITTING AND ENGINEERING DESIGN FOR THE RAW WATER
LINE CONSTRUCTION, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO PAY ITS PRO
RATA SHARE OF COST, NOT TO EXCEED $225,000, AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown entered into a partnership agreement in 1986 with the
City of Round Rock, Jonah S.U.D. and Brazos River Authority for the construction of a raw water
line from Lake Stillhouse Hollow to Lake Georgetown;
WHEREAS, Brazos River Authority serves as the project manager per the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown finds it necessary to begin
preliminary work for the raw water line construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resolution implements the Environmental and Resource Conservation Policy End of the Century
Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "The physical qualities that make Georgetown attractive
are protected'; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict
with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of
the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The Brazos River Authority (BRA) is hereby authorized to proceed with
preliminary engineering, permitting and engineering design for the raw water line construction and
the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto a contract with
the BRA for this work in an amount not to exceed $225,000 on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
