A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING CONSTRUCTION OF THE 1-35
EAST FRONTAGE ROAD
WHEREAS, it is provided in Ordinance No. 93-42 and amended in Ordinance
No. 95-59 that the City shall accept dedication of the 1-35 East Frontage Road upon
receipt of notification from the Texas Department of Transportation that the road is
substantially complete and shall issue certificates of assessment to the adjacent
property owners; and
WHEREAS, the City has received notification from the Texas Department of
Transportation that construction of the 1-35 East Frontage Road is now substantially
complete; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept notification of substantial completion of
construction of the 1-35 East Frontage Road, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this
resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated
by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City
Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Transportation Policy 15 of the
Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "The City will encourage a
transportation system that provides for the safe and efficient movement of traffic,
promotes the economic interests of the community, and adequately serves the
personal needs of individuals"; Economic Development Policy 1, which states: "The
City will encourage diversified growth and promote business opportunities to create
jobs, broaden the tax base and minimize the impact of economic fluctuations"; and
Finance Policy 1, which states: "The City will conduct all municipal operations in an
efficient businesslike manner"; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is
not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by
Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The City hereby accepts construction of the 1-35 East Frontage
Road and authorizes the City Attorney to issue certificates of assessment in the name
of the City of Georgetown as provided in Ordinance No. 93-42 and amended in
Ordinance No. 95-59.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
