HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 981027-TRESOLUTION NO. loan r A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, GRANTING A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT A OF THIS RESOLUTION, CONSISTING OF: 1.96 ACRES IN THE DAVID WRIGHT SURVEY, KNOWN AS THE DICOTEC SUBDIVISION, LOTS THREE AND FOUR, LOCATED ON FM2338, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT A OF THIS RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the owner of the Dicotec Subdivision, Lots 3 and 4, has petitioned in writing for annexation of these tracts by the City; and WHEREAS, the petition describes the area by metes and bounds and is acknowledged in the manner required for deeds by each person having an interest in the area; and WHEREAS, the area is one-half mile or less in width, is contiguous to the City limits of the City of Georgetown, and is vacant and without residents; and WHEREAS, the date of this resolution is after the 5th day but on or before the 30th day after the date the petition was filed; and WHEREAS, as a Home -Rule Municipality, according to Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code, the City of Georgetown has the authority to fix and extend its municipal boundaries and annex area adjacent to its boundaries; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the annexation is in the best interests of the City of Georgetown; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element: 1. Environmental and Resource Conservation End 3.0, which states: "The physical qualities that make Georgetown attractive are protected"; and 2. Growth and Physical Development End 7.2, which states: "Annexation procedures and standards benefit the community"; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. -Res ?F10a 7- T Dicotec, Lots 3 & 4 Annexation Petition Page 1 of 2 SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby grants the petition to annex APPROXIMATELY 1.96 ACRES IN THE DAVID WRIGHT SURVEY, KNOWN AS THE DICOTEC SUBDIVISION, LOTS THREE AND FOUR, LOCATED ON FM2338, as described in Exhibit A of this resolution, which includes the petition. SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign on behalf of the City Council of the City of Georgetown. SECTION 4. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. Said land being Lot 4 and a portion of Lot 3 of Dicotec Subdivision, a subdivision of record in Cabinet L, Slide 143, of tic Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas. Surveyed on the ground in the month of November, 1997, under the supervision of Don H. Bizzell, Registered Professional Land Surveyor, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at ,ui iron pin found on the south line of Sequoia Spur, being on the west line of that certain Lot 1, Screnada West, a subdivision of record in Cabinet D, Slide 130, of the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, marking the Northeast corner of the said Lot 4, Dicotec Subdivision, for the Northeast corner hereof; THENCE, S 220 49' 30" E, 228.72 feet to an iron pin found on the north lute of that certain Lot 2, of the said Dicotec Subdivision, marking the Southwest corner of the said Lot 1, Serenada West, also marking the Southeast corner of the said Lot 4, Dicotec Subdivision, for the Southeast comer hereof, THENCE, S 680 10' 30" W, passing the Southwest corner of die said Lot 4, Dicotec Subdivision, and the Southeast comer of the said Lot 3, Dicotec Subdivision, for a total distance of 282.70 feet to an iron pin found on the Northeast line of Ranch To Market Highway No. 2338, marking the most westerly corner of the said Lot 2, Dicotec Subdivision, also marking the most southerly corner of the said Lot 3, Dicotec Subdivision, for the most southerly corner hereof, 'THENCE, with the said northeast line of Ranch To Market Highway No. 2338,. and the southwest line of the said Lot 3, Dicotec Subdivision, N 65° 25' 30" W, 211.77 feet to an iron pin set, marking the most easterly corner of that certain tract of land, called 0.04 of an acre, as dedicated to the City of Georgetown, as described in a development agreement between Dicotec, Lie. and the City of Georgetown, as recorded in Document No. , of the Official Records of Williamson County, Texas, for the Southwest comer hereof, THENCE, along the east line of the said 0.04 of an acre tract, with a curve to the right, (Radius = 40.00 feet, Long Chord bears N 20° 05'W, 56.90 feet) an arc distance of 63.31 feet to an iron pin set foi the end of said curve, and N 25° 15' 30 E, 27.26 feet to an ion pin set on the south line of the said Sequoia Spur, being on the north lute of the said Lot 3, Dicotec Subdivision, marking the most northerly corner of the said 0.04 of an acre tract, for the Northwest corner hereof, THENCE, with the south line of the said Sequoia Spur, and tie north line of the said Dicotec Subdivision, N 70° 25' 30" E, 103.24 feet to an iron pin found marking the beginning of a curve to the left (Radius = 2364.25 feet, Long Chord bears N 68° 19' E, 169.96 feet), with said curve to tie left an arc distance of 170.00 feet to an iron pin found for the end of said curve, and N 660 15'30" E, 130.02 feet to Place of BEGINNING and containing 1.96 acres of land.
