A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, TRANSFERRING PROPERTY FROM THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXTENDING R.M.
2243/LEANDER ROAD FROM BUSINESS LOOP 35/U.S.81 TO 0.10 MILE
SOUTH OF QUAIL VALLEY DRIVE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Georgetown to enhance
traffic flow and connectivity of developments within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, at their meeting on November 25, 1997, granted
authority for the purchase of a portion of property, with the unspoken intention of that
property being 0.256 acre of land, to be conveyed to the Texas Department of
Transportation for the purpose of extending R.M.2243/Leander Road, east from
U.S.81/Business Loop 35 to 0.10 mile south of Quail Valley Drive;
WHEREAS, the above -referenced property has been acquired by the City of
Georgetown, and a deed conveying such property to the Texas Department of
Transportation was executed by Mayor Leo Wood on October 2, 1998, a copy of which is
attached to this resolution as Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution
are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby
finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan
Element:
1. Governmental Affairs Policy 6.0, which states: "A high level of cooperation
and involvement exists among Georgetown's citizens and governmental organizations";
and
2. Growth and Physical Development Policy End 7.0, which states:
"Georgetown's land uses support economic, cultural and social activities for all residents,
businesses and organizations; and the City's development process encourages new and
infill development"; and
3. Transportation Policy 12.0, which states: "Georgetown's transportation
system provides for the safe and efficient movement of traffic, promotes the economic
interests of the community, and adequately serves the needs of indivivals."

SECTION 2. The City Council wishes to confirm the action taken to acquire the
property and convey it to the Texas Department of Transportation in a deed executed by
the Mayor on October 2, 1998, and thereby initiates action by the Texas Department of
Transportation to extend R.M.2243/Leander Road, east from U.S.81/Business Loop 35 to
0.10 mile south of Quail Valley Drive.
SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to
attest thereto this resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

tract or parcel of land in wILLIAMSON County, Texas, more particularly described in Ex-
hibit "A," which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for any and all purposes.
SAVE and EXCEPT, HOWEVER, it is expressly understood and agreed that Grantors are retaining
title to the following improvements located on the property described in said Exhibit "A," to wit:
NONE
Grantors covenant and agree to remove the above-described improvements from said land by the N/A
day of '19 , subject, however, to such extensions of time as may be granted
by the State in writing; and if, for any reason, Grantors fail or refuse to remove same within said period of
time prescribed, then, without any further consideration, the title to all or any part of such improvements
not so removed shall pass to and vest in the State of Texas forever.
Grantors reserve all of the oil, gas and sulphur in and under the land herein conveyed but waive all rights
of ingress and egress to the surface thereof for the purpose of exploring, developing, mining or drilling for
same; however, nothing in this reservation shall affect the title and rights of the State to take and use all
other minerals and materials thereon, therein and thereunder.

singular the rights and appurtenances thereto in any wise belonging unto the State of Texas and its assigns

Texas and its assigns against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part
thereof.

BEGINNING for reference at a Type II Concrete Highway Monument set in the east right-
of-way line of U.S. 81 (100 feet in width) at U.S. 81 Centerline Station 538+13.24, 50.00 feet right,
same being the southwest corner of a 1.008 acre tract of land conveyed to John Y. Tarlton by
instrument recorded in Volume 1599, Page 630 of the Official Deed Records of Williamson
County, Texas and also being the northwest corner and POINT OF BEGINNING HEREOF and from
which a Type I Concrete Highway Monument found in the east right-of-way line of U.S. 81 bears
N23030'27"E, at a distance of 93.77 feet;
l.) Thence, departing said east right-of-way line and with the proposed north (ght-of-way
line of F.M. 1460, S46048'32"E, for a distance of 106.79 feet to an iron rod with TxDOT
aluminum cap set in the common boundary line of said Lot 1 and Lot 1 A of said
subdivision and being the northeast corner hereof;
2.) Thence, departing said proposed right-of-way line and with said common boundary line
of Lot 1 and Lot 1 A, S22059' 12"W, for a distance of 76.74 feet to a calculated point in the
existing north right-of-way line of 23rd Street, being the southwest corner of Lot 1 A also
