GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE STAFF TO
NEGOTIATE A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH CHAD
AIRCRAFT SALES AND MANAGEMENT COMPANY FOR
APPROXIMATELY 50,916 SQUARE FEET OF AIRPORT
PROPERTY, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chad Aircraft Sales and Management Company (Chad) has proposed to lease
that certain area of the Georgetown Municipal Airport known as 304 Terminal
Drive. (approximately 50,916 square feet); and
WHEREAS, Chad proposes to remove the existing building and construct a new 9,000
square foot hangar with 2500 square feet of office space to accommodate an Aircraft Completion
Facility; and
WHEREAS, this proposal conforms with the Airport Master Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Airport Advisory Board voted unanimously to recommend that Council
approve staff to negotiate a lease agreement based upon this proposal; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that this proposal from Chad is in the best
interests of the development of the Georgetown Municipal Airport;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this
resolution are found to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council
hereby finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century
Plan- Policy Plan Element:
Economic Development Policy End 1.0, which states, "Georgetown's
economy is self-sustaining through diversified growth, a broad tax base with
minimal impact from economic fluctuation, enhanced business opportunity
and job creation."
2. Transportation Policy End 12.0, which states, "Georgetown's transportation
system provides for the safe and efficient movement of traffic, promotes
interests of the community, and adequately serves the needs of individuals."
SECTION 2. The .qty Staff is hereby authorized to negotiate a long -term land lease with
Chad for the development of the site under the following condition:
A. The development of the site shall be exactly as represented in Chad's proposal of
March 15, 1999.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
RESOLVED THIS 27TH DAY OF APRIL, 1999.
