A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO SIGN AN ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT,
WITH SMITH-WESTERN ENGINEERING, INC., AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has property available for lease at the
Georgetown Municipal Airport; and,
WHEREAS, certain engineering design tasks related to the grading, access taxilanes,
drainage, water pollution abatement plan, and bidding services are essential to the successful
completion of the project; and,
WHEREAS, Smith-Engineering, Inc. has agreed to perform these services and is
experienced and fully qualified to do so; and,
WHEREAS, this project complies with the Airport Master Plan and was recommended by
the Airport Advisory Board; and,
WHEREAS, the Council finds that this project is in the best interest of the long range
financial stability of the Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resolution implements 12.0 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states:
"Georgetown's transportation system provides for the safe and efficient movement of traffic,
promotes the economic interests of the community, and adequately serves the needs of
individuals"; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict
with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of
the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to execute, and the City Secretary to attest
thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown the Engineering Services Agreement with Smith-
Western Engineering, Inc.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
