WHEREAS; Shell Ranch Development, Inc. and Weekly Homes, L.P. have
heretofore filed with the City a petition to request establishment of the Georgetown Village
Public Improvement District #1 (the "District ") under and pursuant to the provisions of
Chapter 372, Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, a public improvement district may only be established after a public
hearing is held pursuant to Section 372.009 of the Local Government Code, V.A.T.S.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE t LVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
OF •• •.. THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution
are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby
finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan
Element:
1. Recreation and Cultural Affairs Focus End 11.1, which states: "The City
maintains and upgrades existing parks and constructs new parks through a diversified
funding and acquisition program;"
SECTION 2. A public hearing-on the establishment of the Georgetown Village
Public Improvement District #1 and the advisability of the improvements within said district
shall be held before the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas on the 9th day of
February, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 101 E. 7th Street,
Georgetown, Texas.
SECTION 3. The City Secretary is directed to give proper notice of the hearing as
required by Section 372.009 of the Local Government Code.
SECTION 4. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to
attest thereto this resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 5. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
