HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 200523-SWHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has received an Application for the abandonment of the platted ten (10) foot Public Utility Easement along the rear property line of Lot 26, Block D, Parkview Estates, Section 1, as recorded in Cabinet G, Slides 39 - 41 of the plat records of Williamson County, Texas, located at 101 Benchmark Street, as shown on the attached Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that no public need for this Public Utility Easement exists; and WHEREAS, upon consideration of the application and additional information pertaining to the application, the City Council now finds that the abandonment will benefit the community as a whole by facilitating the development of the surrounding properties. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Growth and Physical Development Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states "The City will ensure that future land use patterns provide economic, cultural, and social activities to all residents, businesses and organizations"; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to issue and the Mayor is authorized to execute, on behalf of The City of Georgetown, a quit claim deed abandoning the platted ten (10) foot Public Utility Easement along the rear property line of Lot 26, Block D, Parkview Estates, Section 1, as recorded in Cabinet G, Slides 39 - 41 of the plat records of Williamson County, Texas, located at 101 Benchmark Street Drive. *1 -5 Parkview Estates, Section 1, Block D, Lot 26; Abandonment Resolution No. (�k Page 1 of 2 J:\CUR-PLAMCrrYCNCUABANDk2ooOABANIPE 1-0-26.
