A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION TO ADD 16.254 ACRES OF REAL PROPERTY TO THE GEORGETOWN VILLAGE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT #1; SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE INCLUSION OF SUCH LANDS INTO THE GEORGETOWN VILLAGE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT #1; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 23, 1999, the City Council of the City of Georgetown adopted Resolution No. 99023 -N, which created the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District #1 (the "District "); and WHEREAS, on January 18, 2002, Shell Ranch Development, Inc., as owner of certain real property described in Exhibit "A ", attached hereto (the "Property ") filed a Petition for Inclusion of Property within the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District #1; and WHEREAS, before including the Property within the District, the City must give notice and call a public hearing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1: The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements the following Century Plan Elements: 1. Growth & Physical Development Policy 7.0 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "Georgetown's land uses support economic, cultural and social activities for all residents, businesses and organizations; and the City's development process encourages new and infill development "; and 2. Finance Policy 5.0 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states; "All municipal operations are conducted in an efficient business -like manner and sufficient financial resources for both short-term and long -term needs are provided "; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. Georgetown Village PID #1 (Section 5) Resolution No. O Page 1 of 2 SECTION 2: Pursuant to Section 372.009 of the Local Government Code, V.A.T.S., the City Council of the City of Georgetown formally acknowledges receipt of the aforementioned Petition for Inclusion of Certain Real Property in Georgetown Village Public Improvement Distinct #1 and sets a public hearing regarding the inclusion of real property, as described in Exhibit "A', into the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. 1 shall be held before the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas on March 26, 2002, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 609 Main Street, Georgetown, Texas, 78626.
