Regular Meeting
The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday, October 21, 2010
in the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter at 110 W.L. Walden Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78626.
Meeting called to order at 6:03 p.m. by Christy Hullum.
1. Citizens comments – None
2. Approval of minutes from the August advisory board meeting – The September minutes were
approved unanimously.
3. Animal Services statistical and analytical report for September, 2010 – Jackie Carey discussed
the reports for September, 2010. Of note, an outbreak of Panleukapenia in the shelter required the
euthanizing of a large number of cats. The situation appears to be under control after significant effort by
the shelter staff was directed at the problem.
4. Discussion and possible action about having GT PD leadership meet with board and determine
topics for discussion/presentation – The board discussed the need to encourage more awareness of
and interaction with the animal shelter operations by the PD management. It was decided to continue the
discussion at the November meeting and determine courses of action.
