„ BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
P� AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING
OF IH -35 NORTH AREA 71:.84 ACRE TRACT WHICH SAID
TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT
BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
AND NOT BEING PART OF ANY INCORPORATED AREA;
PROVIDING FOR SERVICE PLANS AND SAVINGS CLAUSE
WHEREAS, two public hearings by the City Council of the City
of Georgetown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided
with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of that
certain tract of land located in Williamson County, Texas, known
as IH -35 North Area 68.05 Acre Tract were held, the first being at
City Hall on the 12th Day of November, 1985, and the second hearing
being at City Hall on the 19th Day of November, 1985.
WHEREAS,

were published
according
to
law in a
newspaper havin

City of Georgetown, Texas, and in the herein described territory
to be annexed on the 30th Day of October, 1985 for such hearings
which date is not more than 20 days nor less than 10 days prior
to those hearings.
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Georgetown,
Texas, on the lst day of January, 1985 was 45.61. acres; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Georgetown, Texas is
13,500 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS,all
the herein described
territory
lies within
the
extra -territorial
jurisdication of the
City of
Georgetown,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, the herein described territory lies adjacent and
contiguous to the City of Georgetwon, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the herein described territory contains 71.84 acres;
now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1. The following described land and territory lying
adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas is hereby
added and annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas and said territory
hereinafter described shall hereafter be included in the boundary
limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the present boundary
limits of said City at the various points contiguous to the area
hereinafter described are altered and amended so as to include
said area within the corporate limits of the City of Georgetown,
Texas, to -wit:
BEING those certain tracts and parcels of land described
in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference for all purposes.
Section 2. The above described territory and the area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the
property so added hereby shall bear its pro -rata share of the taxes
levied by the City of Georgetown, Texas and inhabitants thereof
shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of all the
citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions
and regulations of the City of Georgetown, Texas; furthermore, said
tracts described in Exhibit A shall be served in accordance with
the service plan described in Exhibit B attached hereto.
SAVINGS CLAUSE
If any section,
paragraph,
clause,
phrase,
or provision of
the Ordinance shall
be adjudged
invalid
or held
unconstitutional,
the same shall not affect the validity of this Ordinance as a
whole or any part or provision thereof other than the part so
declared to be invalid or unconstitutional.
PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading on this 10th day of
December, 1985,

EXHIBIT A
Annexation Tract
Tract 1 Being the 71.84acres roughly corresponding to
the IH -35 right-of-way north of and contiguous to
the adjacent City Limits, and including 0.04
acres of the Bohons Wittera tract recorded in
Volume 454 page 404 of the Deed Records of
Williamson County Texas and including 0.04 acres
of the Albert S. Evans, Jr. Tract recorded in
Vol. 454, Page 610 of the Deed Records of Williamson
Count,, Texas;
Beginning at the northern most corner of the
City limits along the east side of the I11-35
right-of-way, such point being more fully described
in the annexation ordinance dated April 11, 1966.
Thence, N 67049' W a distance of 466.4 along the
existing City limits to the point of intersection
with the west right -of -wap of Interstate Highway
35;
Thence, continuing along same bearing for a distance
of 17 feet;
Thence, N 24'50" E for a distance of 230 feet
to a point on said west right-of-way;
Thence, N 19030' E along said west right-of-way
for a distance of approximately 418 feet to
survey station 676+06, said point being the
point of curvature along the western right-of-way
of Interstate Highway 35; and
Thence N 170 28' E along said west right-of-wa
for a distance of 774.6 feet; and
Thence, N 12042' E along said west right -of -wap
for a distance of 602.1 feet; and
Thence, N 17°28' E along said west right-of-way for
a distance of 1192.9 feet; and
Thence, N23°48'E along said west right-of-wa.y
for a distance of 634.4 feet; and
Thence, N 17°28' E along said west right-of-way
for a distance of 490 feet; and
Thence, S 73° 62' E across the south bound lanes
of said highway for a distance of 230 feet; and
Thence S 67035' E across the northbound lanes
of said highway to the east right-of-way for
a distance of 405 feet; and

for a distance of 679.3 feet; and
Thence, S 15010' W along said east right-of-way
for a distance of 500.4 feet; and

Streets, Street Lighting
Street lighting will be provided by the City at
all intersections as this area develops. Streets
will be maintained according to Georgetown City Code,
Recreation, Library Services
Recreation and library services will be
available upon annexation.
Miscellaneous
Any other applicable municipal services will be
provided to the area in accordance with policies
established by the City of Georgetown.

EXHIBIT B
Plan of Service for Annexation Areas
Police Protection
Upon annexation the Georgetown Police Department
will provide regular and routine patrols in the area
as a part of its overall patrol activities. The depart-
ment will respond to calls for assistnace within their
responsibility and jurisdiction.
Fire Service
Fire service is

continue
to
be

the

now being provided to the area and
provided by the present personnel

Maintenance of water facilities will
be provided upon annexation in accordance with rates,
terms, and conditions contained in the Georgetown City Code,

Service will be provided as this area develops
in accordance with rates, terms and conditions contained
in the Georgetown City Code,
