AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF
CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
CONSISTING OF. 10.54 ACRES INCLUDING A ONE
HUNDRED (100) FOOT WIDE STRIP INCLUDING ALL OF THE
MISSOURI KANSAS TEXAS RAILROAD RIGHT OF GRAY
BETWEEN RAILROAD CENTERLINE STATION 690 AND THE
SOUTHEAST CORNER OF PENNINGTON PLACE SUBDIVISION;
WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS
THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AND NOT BEING PART OF ANY.
INCORPORATED AREA; PROVIDING FOR SERVICE PLANS,
AND CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
may under the Charter of said City, Section 1.06, annex areas as
allowed by State law; and
WHEREAS, notices of two (2) public hearings were published,
according to law in a newspaper having general circulation in the
City of Georgetown, Texas, and in the herein described territory
to be annexed not more than 20 days nor less than 10 days prior
to those hearings; and
WHEREAS, two public hearings by the City Council of the City
of Georgetown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided-
with
rovidedwith an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of a
certain tract located in Williamson County, Texas, including a
ONE HUNDRED (100) FOOT WIDE STRIP INCLUDING ALL OF THE MISSOURI
KANSAS TEXAS RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY BETWEEN RAILROAD CENTERLINE
STATION 690 AND THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF PENNINGTON PLACE
SUBDIVISION were held, the first being on the 20th day of
October, 1987, and the second hearing being on the 27th day of
October, 1987; and
WHEREAS, at such public hearings, a proposed service plan
was presented to and discussed by the Council and all interested
persons; and
WHEREAS, such public hearings were held not more than forty
(40) nor less than (20) days prior to the institution of these
proceedings and

WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Georgetown,
Texas on the 1st day of January, 1987 was 6839 acres; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Georgetown, Texas
includes approximately 16,000 inhabitants, and
WHEREAS, all the herein described territory lies within the
extra -territorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown, Texas;
and

WHEREAS, the herein described territory lies adjacent and
contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the herein described territory contains 10.54 acres
and is not located within the incorporated limits of another
City, or within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of another
City, and
WHEREAS, the City has received a petition requesting
annexation by the City of Georgetown, Texas from a majority of
qualified voters and landowners in the area requesting
annexation, and
WHEREAS, all notices and other prerequisites of state law
and the City Charter have been complied with, now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
Section 1. All of the facts recited in the preamble to this.
ordinance are hereby found by the Council to be true and correct,
and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a
part hereof, as if copied herein verbatim,
Section 2. The following described land and territory lying
adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas is
hereby added and annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas and
said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included
in the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the
present boundary limits of said City at the various points
contiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and
amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of
the City of Georgetown, Texas, to -wit:
BEING those certain tracts and parcels of land
described in Exhibit A attached hereto and in-
corporated herein by reference for all purposes.
Section 3. The above described territory and the area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the
property so added hereby shall bear its pro -rata share of the
taxes levied by the City of Georgetown, Texas and inhabitants
thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of
city citizenship, shall be bound by all such duties of
citizenship and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances,
resolutions and regulations of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
furthermore, said tracts described in Exhibit A shall be served
in accordance with the service plan described in Exhibit B
attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, which is
hereby approved and adopted.

Section 4. If any section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or
provision of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held
unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this
Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than
the part so declared to be invalid or unconstitutional.
READ AND APPROVED on the first reading, on this the 24th day

TRACT 1
Being 10.54 acres of land located in the ,john Berry survey, A-51,
consisting of a 100 foot wide strip of right-of-way of the
Missouri -Kansas and Texas Railroad, and being located between
railroad centerline station number 690 and a line extending south
from the southeast corner of Pennington Place subdivision as
recorded in Cabinet F, Slide 88 of the plat records of Williamson
County, Texas; the centerline of said right-of-way and of the 100
foot wide strip of land described herein is described by the
following field notes,
Beginning at the centerline of said railroad right of way, said
point being located at centerline station number 690;
Thence continuing along the centerline of said right of way for a
distance of 4590 feet to centerline station number 644+10, said
point being located S 32 13'E a distance of approximately 50 feet
from the southeast corner of said Pennington Place subdivision.
The foregoing field notes were prepared from record information
and do not reflect an actual field survey.

LIMITS AND THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF PENNINGTON
PLACE SUBDIVISION
Police Protection
Upon annexation the Georgetown Police Department will
respond to calls for assistance within their responsibility and
jurisdiction. The City Code Enforcement Officer shall
periodically patrol public streets that develop in the area to
ensure that all properties are in conformance with City Code,
Fire Service
Fire service is now being provided to the area and will con-
tinue to be provided by the present personnel and equipment of
the fire fighting force.
Water Service
The area is currently undeveloped, water lines will be
extended in accordance with City policy as development of the
area occurs. After installation; maintenance of City water
facilities will be provided in accordance with rates, terms, and
conditions contained in the City Code.
Sewer Service
The City shall permit the continued use of septic systems in
accordance with the requirements of the Williamson County Health
Department. The City shall institute no actions to cause the
conversion of existing septic systems on lots having areas of at
least one-half acre to an organized collection system, except as
may be directed by a higher authority (ie state or federal
government),
Refuse Collection
Upon request, sanitation service may be provided in
accordance with rates, terms and conditions contained in the City
Code.

The Planning and Zoning jurisdiction of the City will extend

Streets, Street Lighting
In areas served by the City of Georgetown electrical
department, street lighting will be provided by the City at all
intersections and at regular intervals on long blocks. Streets
will be maintained according to City Code and policy.
Recreation, Library Services
Recreation and library services will be available to all
residents of this tract in accordance with rates, terms and
conditions contained in the City Code.
Miscellaneous
Any other applicable municipal services will be provided to
the area in accordance with policies established by the City.-
