AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF
CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
CONSISTING OF: 3.61 ACRES INCLUDING THREE TEN (IO)
FOOT LONG STRIPS OF LAND ADJACENT TO, NORTH OF AND
FOLLOWING THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY OF HWY 29 SOUTH
OF THE CURRENT CITY LIMITS; WHICH SAID TERRITORY
LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY
LIMIT OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AND NOT
BEING PART OF ANY INCORPORATED AREA; PROVIDING
FOR SERVICE PLANS, AND CONTAINING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
may under the Charter of said City, Section 1.06, annex areas as
allowed by State law; and
WHEREAS, notices of two (2) public hearings were published
according to law in a newspaper having general circulation in the
City of Georgetown, Texas, and in the herein described territory
to be annexed not more than 20 days nor less than 10 days prior
to those hearings; and
WHEREAS, two public hearings by the City Council of the City
of Georgetown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided
with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of a
certain tract located in Williamson County, Texas, including
THREE TEN (10) FOOT LONG STRIPS OF LAND ADJACENT TO, NORTH OF AND
FOLLOWING THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY OF HWY 29 SOUTH OF AND ADJACENT
TO THE CURRENT CITY LIMITS were held, the first being on the 20th
day of October, 1987, and the second hearing being on the 27th
day of October, 1987; and
WHEREAS, at such public hearings, a proposed service plan
was presented to and discussed by the Council and all interested
persons; and
WHEREAS, such public hearings were held not more than forty
(40) nor less than (20) days prior to the institution of these
proceedings: and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Georgetown,
Texas on the lst day of January, 1987 was 6839 acres; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Georgetown, Texas
includes approximately 16,000 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, all the herein described territory lies within the
extra -territorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown, Texas;
and

WHEREAS, the herein described territory lies adjacent and
contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the herein described territory contains 3.61 acres,
and is not located within the incorporated limits of another
City, or within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of another
City; and
WHEREAS, the City has received petitions requesting
annexation by the City of Georgetown, Texas from a majority of
qualified voters and landowners in the area requesting
annexation; and
WHEREAS, all notices and other prerequisites of state law
and the City Charter have been complied with; now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS;
Section 1. All of the facts recited in the preamble to this
ordinance are hereby found by the Council to be true and correct,
and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a
part hereof, as if copied herein verbatim;
Section 2. The following described land and territory lying
adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas is
hereby added and annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas and
said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included
in the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the
present boundary limits of said City at the various points
contiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and
amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of
the City of Georgetown, Texas, to -wits
BEING those certain tracts and parcels of land
described in Exhibit A attached hereto and in-
corporated herein by reference for all purposes.
Section 3. The above described territory and the area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the
property so added hereby shall bear its pro -rata share of the
taxes levied by the City of Georgetown, Texas and inhabitants
thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of
city citizenship, shall be bound by all such duties of
citizenship and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances,
resolutions and regulations of the City of Georgetown, Texas;
furthermore, said tracts described in Exhibit A shall be served
in accordance with the service plan described in Exhibit B
attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, which is
hereby approved and adopted.

Section 4. If any section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or
provision of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held
unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this
Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than
the part so declared to be invalid or unconstitutional.

Being 1.26 acres in the Wm. Addison Survey A-21 and the Woodruff
Stubblefield Survey A-556 consisting of a 10 foot long strip of
land located north of and along the north right of way line of
State Highway 29 (SH 29), south of and adjacent to the current
city limits of the City of Georgetown and being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a point located 10 feet north of the north right of
way line of SH 29, said point being located S 75 391 50"W a
distance of 176.70 feet, S 77 341W a distance of 270.80 feet and
N 14 30'30" W a distance of 10 feet from the southeast corner of
a tract conveyed to Jonathan Bassan, described in Volume 1163,
Page 921 of the records of Williamson County, Texas; said point
being the westernmost northwest corner of the tract described
herein;
Thence S 14 3013091E a distance of 10 feet to the north right of
way line of SH 29;
Thence following said right of way in an eastwardly direction
along the following 5 bearings.

curve to the left;

Being 0.87 acres in the Woodruff Stubblefield Survey A-556

current city limits, north of and along the north right of way

Beginning at a point located N 18 101W a distance of
approximately 10 feet from the southeast corner of East View
Drive as dedicated in the plat of East View Ranchettes Section 1
subdivision as recorded in Cabinet C Slide 266 of the plat
records of Williamson County, Texas, said point being the
southwest corner of lot 2 of said subdivision and located on a
south city limit line of the City of Georgetown, Texas
Thence S 18 101E a distance of approximately 10 feet to the
southeast corner of East View Drive, said point being located on
the north right of way of SH 29;
Thence following said right of way in an eastwardly direction
along the following 7 bearings:
1} S 89 501E approximately 916.59 feet pass the southeast
corner of said subdivision, said point being the southwest
corner of a tract conveyed to Harold Joe & Joy D. Bohanan,
described in Volume 618, Page 956 of the records of
Williamson County, Texas;

approximately 679.29 feet pass the southeast corner of
said Bohanan tract, said point being the southwest
corner of a tract conveyed to William James Ott Jr.,

said Ott tract, said point being the southwest corner
of a tract conveyed to Richard L Conroy, described in

3) S 89 9'E a distance of 110 feet pass the southeast corner of
said Conroy tract and 304.39 feet pass the southeast corner
of a tract conveyed to Richard L. Conroy as described in
Volume 792, Page 288 of the records of Williamson County,
Texas and 105.82 feet to the remains of a concrete highway
marker found at the beginning of a curve to the right, north
of and opposite centerline station 160 plus 71.0,
approximately 520.21 feet in all;
4) Along said curve having a central angle of 1 52', a radius
of 5769.60 feet and a long chord bearing S 88 13'E a
distance of 187.96 feet for an arc distance of 187.97 feet
to the southeast corner of a tract conveyed to Richard L.
Conroy, described in Volume 909, Page 928 of the records of
Williamson County, Texas, said point being the southwest
corner of a tract conveyed to Milton Ray & Martha Jane
Richey, described in Volume 877, Page 552 of the records of
Williamson County, Texas;
5) S 85 10'E a distance of 396.61 feet;
6) S 83 14'E a distance of 108.72 feet; and
7) S 84 17'E a distance of 127.54 feet to the southeast corner
of said Richey tract, said point being the southeast corner
of the tract described herein and the southwest corner of
County Road No. 103;
Thence N 18 441W along the west right of way of said county road
and the east property line of said Richey tract for a distance of
approximately 10 feet to a south city limit line of the City of
Georgetown, Texas and the northwest corner of the tract described
herein; and
Thence along said city limit line, following a line located 10
feet north of and parallel to the north right of way line of SH
29 to the point of beginning and including approximately 0.87
acres of land

city limits of the City of Georgetown and being more particularly
described as follows:

Beginning at a point located N 19 W approximately 10 feet from
the north right of way line of SH 29, said point being on a south
city limit line of the City of Georgetown, Texas, the east right
of way of County Road No. 103 and the west property line of a
tract conveyed to James W. and Christa Wade as recorded in Volume
430, Page 108 of the records of Williamson County, Texas, said
point being the northwest corner of the tract described herein;
Thence leaving said city limit line along said property line and
county road right of way S 19 E a distance of approximately 10
feet to the north right of way line of SH 29 for the southwest
corner of the tract described herein,
Thence following said north right of way of SH 29 in an
eastwardly direction along the following 11 bearings.
1) S 87 571E a distance of approximately 1087.8 feet to the
southeast corner of said Wade tract, said point being the
southwest corner of a tract conveyed to James W. and Christa
Wade, described in Volume 430, Page 110 of the records of
Williamson County, Texas;
2) S 88 28'E a distance of approximately 811 feet;
3) N S9 20'E a distance of approximately 883 feet to the
beginning of a 2 degree curve to the left with a central
angle of 6 43 and a radius of 2824.90 feet;
4) Along said curve to the left an arc distance of 331.16 feet,
the chord of said curve bearing N 86 20'E a distance of
330.97 feet to a point of tangency and the end of said
curve, said point being N 83 58145t4E a distance of
approximately 19.54 feet from the southwest corner of a
tract conveyed to Tom E Nelson, described in Volume 1133,

Plan of Service for the Annexation Areas
including: THREE TEN (10) FOOT LONG STRIPS OF
LAND ADJACENT TO, NORTH OF AND FOLLOWING THE NORTH
RIGHT-OF-WAY OF HWY 29 SOUTH OF AND ADJACENT TO
THE CURRENT CITY LIMITS
Police Protection
Upon annexation the Georgetown Police Department will
respond to calls for assistance within their responsibility and
Jurisdiction. The City Code Enforcement Officer shall
periodically patrol the area to ensure that all properties are in
conformance with City Code.
Fire Service
Fire service is now being provided to the area and will con.
tinue to be provided by the present personnel and equipment of
the fire fighting force.
Water Service
Jonah Water Supply Corporation will continue to provide
water service to the area. Upon the extension of City water
facilities into the area, service and maintenance will be
provided in accordance with rates, terms, and conditions contain-
ed in the City Code.
Sewer Service
The City shall permit the continued use of septic systems.
The City shall institute no actions to cause the conversion of
existing septic systems on lots having areas of at least one-half
acre to an organized collection system, except as may be directed
by a higher authority (ie state or federal government).
Refuse Collection
Upon request, sanitation service may be provided in
accordance with rates, terms and conditions contained in the City
Code.
Inspection Services
All inspection services (for example building, electrical,
plumbing, etc.) provided by the City will be extended to this
area on the effective date of annexation.
Planning and Zonin
The Planning and Zoning jurisdiction of the City will extend
to this area on the effective date of annexation. The zoning
will be A (Agricultural) unless requested otherwise and approved
through regular procedures.

Streets, Street Lighting
In areas served by the City of Georgetown electrical
department, street lighting will be provided by the City at all
intersections and at regular intervals on long blocks. Streets
will be maintained according to City Code and policy.
Recreation, Library Services
Recreation and library

services will be available to
