AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18, PERSONNEL, OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 18-7.5 PERSONNEL
RULES AND PROCEDURES ADOPTED BY REFERENCE; EFFECTIVE DATE.,
BY PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF A REVISED SET OF PERSONNEL
RULES AND PROCEDURES APPLICABLE TO ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN:
SECTION 1, That Chapter 18, Personnel, of the City of Georgetown Code of
ordinances, section 18-7.,"Personnel rules and procedures adopted by reference;
effective date., is hereby amended to read as follows:
The Revised Personnel Rules and Procedures, a copy of which
is filed in the office of City Secretary and.incorporated
herein by reference for all purposes, are hereby adopted
and put in full force and effect as of September 1, 1987,
which shall be the "effective date" of this section.
SECTION
2. That the
City
Manager
is
hereby
authorized
to organize
the
Personnel
Policy in a form
thereof other than the part
appropriate
for
general
distribution
and to
make
whatever
grammatical
and
technical
changes
as
may be necessary
for
the
organization,
printing
and
distribution
of
said Policy;
provided,
however,
that
the City
Manager shall
not
be authorized
to
make any
substantive
changes in
the
Personnel
Policy,
SECTION 3. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. If any section, paragraph,
clause, phrase, or
provision of this
Ordinance shall be adjudged
invalid or held
unconstitutional,
the same shall
not affect the validity of
this Ordinance
as a whole or any
part or provision
thereof other than the part
so declared to
be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective September 1, 1987 after its
adoption on second and final reading by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, Texas.
