HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 870378.00C - ANX of 59.9 AcresIRDINANCE NUMBER: 870378.000 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, may under the Charter of said City, Section 1.05, annex areas as allowed by State law& and WHEREAS, notices of two (2) public hearings were published according to law in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Georgetown, Texas, and in the herein described territory to be annexed not more than 20 days nor less than 10 days prior to those hearings, and 'XAEREAS, two public hearings of Georgetown, a i. where all interested aa a.o -' S. with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation certain tract located in Williamson County, Texas, including a STRIP O LAND TEN FEET NORTH OF AND FOLLOWING THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY OF HWY 29 EAST OF THE CURRENT CITY LIMITS were held, the first being on the 21st day of July, 1987, and the second hearing being on day of July, 19874, and WHEREAS, at such public hearings, a proposed service plan was presented to and discussed by the Council and all interested persons; and WHEREAS, such public hearings were held not more than forty (40) nor less than (20) days prior to the institution of these proceedings® and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Georgetown, Texas on the lst day of January, 1987 was 5839 acres& and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Georgetown, Texas includes approximately 16,000 inhabitants,* and WHEREAS, all the herein described territory lies within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the herein described territory lies adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas& and anotheracres, and a another the herein not located or within the and described territory contains 59-;-*, w *thin the incorporated limits of extra -territorial d• of WHEREAS, all notices and other prerequisites of state law and the City Charter have been complied with; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, Section 1. All of the facts recited in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby found by the Council to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied herein verbatim; followingSection 2. The described land and territory adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, hereby added and annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included in the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, present boundary limits of said City at the various points contiauous to the area hereinafter described are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Georgetown, - s • BEINGise certain tracts and parcels of land in- corporated _. by - _. _ _ • all purposes, ii Section 3. The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the property so added hereby shall bear its pros -rata share of the taxes levied by the City of Georgetown, Texas and inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of city citizenship, shall be bound by all such duties of citizenship and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Georgetown, Texas, furthermore, said tracts described in Exhibit A shall be served in accordance with the service plan described in Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, which is hereby approved and adopted. The department will respond to calls for assistance within their responsibilityand jurisdiction.
