WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
may under the Charter of said City, Section 1.06, annex areas as
allowed by State law; and
WHEREAS, notices of two (2) public hearings were published
according to law in a newspaper having genera_ circulation in the
City of Georgetown, Texas, and in the herein described territory
to be annexed not more than 20 days nor less than 10 days prior
to those hearings, and
WHEREAS, two public hearings by the City Councilof
Georgetown,of all • •-•

certain tract located in Williamson County, Texas, including a

WHEREAS, at such public hearings, a proposed service plan
was presented to and discussed by the Council and all interested
persons, and
WHEREAS, such public hearings were held not more than forty
(4.0) nor less than (20) days prior to the institution of these
proceedings and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Georgetown,
Texas on the lst day of January, 1987 was 6839 acres; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Georgetown, Texas
includes approximately 16,000 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS,
all
the
herein
described
territory
lies
within the
extra -territorial
jurisdiction
of
the
City
of
Georgetown,
Texas;
and
WHEREAS,
the
herein
described
territory
lies
adjacent and
contiguous to
the
City
of
Georgetown,
Texas;
and
WHEREAS, the herein described territory contains 61.7
acres, and is not located within the incorporated limits of
another City, or within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of
another City* and
WHEREAS,
all notices and
other
prerequisites
of state law
and the City
Charter have been
complied
with*
now
therefore
BE IT
ORDAINED BY THE
CITY
COUNCIL
OF
THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS*
Section 1. All of the facts recited in the preamble to this
ordinance are hereby found by the Council to be true and correct,
and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a
part hereof, as if copied herein verbatim*
Section 2. The following described land and territory lying
adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas is
hereby added and annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas and
said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included
in the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the
present boundary limits of said City at the various points
contiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and
amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of
the City of Georgetown, Texas, to -wit®

Section 3. The above described territory and the area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the
property so added hereby shall bear its pro -rata share of the
taxes levied by the City of Georgetown, Texas and inhabitants
thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of
city citizenship, shall be bound by all such duties of
citizenship and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances,
resolutions and regulations of the City of Georgetown, Texas*
furthermore, said tracts described in Exhibit A shall be served
in accordance with the service plan described in Exhibit B
attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, which is
hereby approved and adopted.
Section 4. If any section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or
provision of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held
unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this
Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than
the part so declared to be invalid or unconstitutional.

COMMENCING, for reference, at the northeast corner of that
certain 9.72 acre tract of land conveyed to Barbara Rister
Petrosky and Joe B. McMaster as recorded in Volume 1256, Page
55 of the Deed Records of said Williamson County, Being the
northwest corner of that certain 15.60 acre tract of land
conveyed to the Most Reverend Vincent M. Harris as recorded in
Volume 697, Page 110 of said Williamson County Deed Records,
and being on the south right-of-way line of State Highway No.29
THENCE, along said south right-of-way line, the following
two (2) courses;
1) N 740 57' 30" E. a distance of 624.05 feet to an angle
point,
2) N 750 29' 30" E, a distance of 2,221.63 feet to the
existing City of Georgetown City Limits, said point being 40 feet
right of highway centerline station 75+46.20 and also being the
POINT OF BEGINNING;
THENCE, N 750 29' 30" E, a -distance of 110 feet;
THENCE, N 300 29' 30" E, crossing said highway, a distance
of 127.28 feet to the north right -of -wag line of said highway;

Police Protection
Upon annexation the Georgetown Police Department will provide
regular and routine patrols of streets in the area as a part of its
overall patrol activities. The department will respond to calls for
assistance within their responsibility and jurisdiction. The City
Code Enforcement Officer shall periodically patrol streets in the area
to ensure that all properties are in conformance with City Code,
Fire Service
Fire service is now being provided to the area and will continue
to be provided by the present personnel and equipment of the fire
fighting force®
Water Service
