AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN CODE OF
ORDINANCES CHAPTER 23, ARTICLE I, RATES AND CHARGES FOR
CITY SERVICE -SCHEDULES, SECTION (A), ELECTRIC RATES, TO
DELETE SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY RATE, TO SET CUSTOMER
TRANSFER ACCOUNT, CONNECT CHARGES AND THREE-DAY TEMPORARY
SERVICE RATE; AMENDING CHAPTER, 23, ARTICLE I, RATES AND
CHARGES FOR CITY SERVICE -SCHEDULES, SECTION (G) PAYMENT AND
COLLECTION, TO ESTABLISH A TEN PER CENT LATE CHARGE FEE;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN:
SECTION 1. That the City of Georgetown Code of Ordinances Chapter 23, Article
I, Rates and charges for city service -Schedules, Section (A) ELECTRIC RATES,
Subsection (7) is hereby deleted and Subsection (11), Other electric services
and charges, subparagraph (a) and (c) be amended and Subparagraph (i) be added
to hereby read as follows:
(a) New account or
transfer account charge for
the
work
necessary to initiate
or transfer an account and to
set
the
meter ..............................................$
25.00
(c) Late payment charge for expenses incurred for the
additional activity required because of a late payment
shall be paid in accordance with subsection (G) of this
section.
(i) Three-day temporary service rate for the cleaning of
apartments, homes or lease space. If electric usage
exceeds 100 kwh or water usage exceeds 2 thousand gallons
then usage shall be computed at applicable rates including
minimums ............................................$ 35.00
SECTION 2. That the City of Georgetown Code of Ordinances Chapter 23, Article
I, Rates and charges for city service -Schedules, Section (G), PAYMENT AND
COLLECTION, be amended to hereby read as follows:
If payment is received on or before the tenth of the month
(or the twentieth if billed on second cycle) following the
month in which the service was performed, rendered or
available, or if such payment bears a postmark within such
limit, or is received in the overnight depository by 8:00
a.m. the following day, such payment shall be considered
timely and not delinquent. When the said tenth day (or
twentieth if billed on second cycle) falls on a Saturday,
Sunday or a legal city holiday, such time for payment shall
be extended to the next business day. When payment is made
after the tenth of the month ( or the twentieth if billed
on second cycle) ten per cent (10%) of the unpaid account
balance will be added to the next bill. Second Notices
will be sent to all accounts not paid by the tenth of the
month (or twentieth if billed on second cycle)„

SECTION 3. If any section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or provision of this
Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall
not affect the validity of this Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision
thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective upon adoption of
its second and final reading by the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
Texas, and its publication.
