HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 880364 - Standard Ops at AirportORDINANCE NUMBER AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR COMMERCIAL AND NONCOMMERCIAL OPERATORS AT GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF ARTICLE II, "MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND AIRCRAFT OPERATION" OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING SECTION 4-22.1 "MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR COMMERCIAL AND NONCOMMERCIAL OPERATORS AT GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS" ADOPTED BY REFERENCE, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY CLAUSE; SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City did adopt Airport Rules and Regulations on the 27th day of July, 1976 which have been amended from time to time; and WHEREAS, said regulations do not have sufficient scope to appropriately control the Airport development which does influence the health, safety, and welfare of the City, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, hereinafter referred to as "Council", finds that said regulations must be expanded in order to more appropriately govern the development of the Airport, and WHEREAS, the Airport Advisory Board has reviewed and unanimously approved the "Minimum Standards" at a public hearing on June 27, 1988, and WHEREAS, the Council desires to add the "Minimum Standards for Commercial and Noncommercial Operators at Georgetown Municipal Airport" to Chapter 4 Article II of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the adoption of this ordinance is imperative for the orderly and timely development of the Airport, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS0 SECTION 1. All the facts recited in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby found by the Council to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied herein verbatim. SECTION 2. That a certain document entitled "Minimum Standards For Commercial and Noncommercial Operators at Georgetown Municipal Airport, Georgetown, Texas", and dated June 27, 1988, which is attached hereto, and made a part of this ordinance for all purposes is hereby adopted by the City Council. SECTION 3. That Chapter 4, Article II, Municipal Airport Operation of the City of Georgetown Code of Ordinances be hereby amended to add Section 4-22.1 to read as follows. Sec. 4.22.1: "Minimum Standards For Commercial and Noncommerical Operators at Georgetown Municipal Airport, Georgetown, Texas", a copy of which is filed in the office of the City Secretary and is incorporated herein by reference for all purposes, is hereby adopted and put in full force and effect on the date of publication of the ordinance's caption in a newspaper of general circulation in the City." SECTION 4. Penalty Clause. Any person or persons, firm or corporation, who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance or shall fail to comply therewith, or with any of the requirements thereof, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and, upon conviction, shall be liable for a fine not to exceed the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) including costs. Each day a violation shall be permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 5. The City Secretary is hereby directed this ordinance, at least one time within passage hereof, or as soon thereafter of general circulation in the City.
