HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 880281.010 - Adopt 1998/1999 BudgetORDINANCE NUMBER 9?,90az I, d 16 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET OF THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING, SEPTEMBER 1, 1988 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1989, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 689A-13, ET. SEQ. OF THE REVISED STATUES OF TEXAS AND HOME RULE CHARTER FOR THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS. APPROPRIATING THE VARIOUS AMOUNTS THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Georgetown has submitted to the City Council a proposed budget ("Proposed Budget") of the revenues of said City and expenses of conducting the affairs thereof and providing complete financial plan for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning September 1, 1988, and ending September 30, 1989, and which said Proposed Budget has been complied from detailed information obtained from the several departments and offices of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received and reviewed a copy of such Proposed Budget and all supporting schedules have been filed with the City Secretary of the City of Georgetown, and WHEREAS, in accordance with article 689A-13 et. seq. of Texas Revised Civil Statutes, notice was published for a public hearing to be held on August 9, 1988 concerning such proposed budget, and such hearing was held on that date, where all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard for or against any item or amount there; and WHEREAS, the City Council, having reviewed the Proposed Budget and heard the persons wishing to speak on the Proposed Budget and having deliberated over the proposed revenues and expenditures for the ensuing fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown is of the, opinion that the Proposed Budget should be approved and adopted as the City's Budget for the ensuing fiscal year. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWNa SECTION 1. The Proposed Budget of the revenues of the City of Georgetown and expenses of conducting the affairs thereof, providing a financial plan for the ensuing fiscal year beginning September 1, 1988 and 1988/89 fiscal year budget (csf budget.ord) page 1 of 4 ending September 30, 1989, as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said city, be, and the same is in all things payments of adopted and approved as the budget of the current revenues the Utility and expenses as well as fixed charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning September 1, 1988 and ending September 30, 1989. A copy of the Budget is attached hereto as Exhibit A, and incorporated by reference herein. SECTION 2. That the sum of $4,072,758 is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for payment of expenditures and transfers out of the General Fund. SECTION 3. If any section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or provision of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 12. This ordinance shall become effective upon adoption of its second and final reading by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas.
