HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 890369 - Amending Code of OrdinancesORDINANCE •. 8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18, PERSONNEL, OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 18-7, PERSONNEL RULES AND PROCEDURES ADOPTED BY REFERENCE; EFFECTIVE DATE., BY PRO- VIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF A REVISED SET OF PERSONNEL RULES AND PROCEDURES APPLICABLE TO ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDI- NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Charter of the City of Georgetown, Texas, Article II, Section 2.16 mandates the Council to establish a Personnel Policy by Ordinance, and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, finds that an annual review of the Personnel Policy should be completed, and, WHEREAS, the City staff has prepared the review and recommended modifica- tions and revisions to the Personnel Policy, and, WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the adoption of this Ordinance is imperative for the orderly and timely implementation of the Personnel Policy, NOW THEREFORE TEXAS SECTION I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, All the facts recited in the preamble of this Ordinance are hereby found by the Council to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied herein verbatim. SECTION II That Chapter 181 Personnel, of the City of Georgetown Code of Ordinances, Sec- tion 18-7., Personnel Rules and Procedures adopted by reference, effective date., is hereby amended to read as follows. The Revised Personnel Rules and Procedures, a copy of which is filed in the Office of the City Secretary and incorporated herein by reference for all purposes, are hereby adopted and put in full force and effect as of October 1, 1989, which shall be the "effective date" of this Section.
