AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 880010.022 AND
SECTION 22-41 OF ARTICLE III, PARKING, CHAPTER
22 OF THE GEORGETOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES; CHANGING
THE PERIOD OF TIME DURING WHICH A VEHICLE CAN BE
LEGALLY PARKED IN ZONES SO MARKED AND DESIGNATED AS
FIFTEEN MINUTE ZONES, TO TWO HOUR ZONES AS
SPECIFIED ON ADJOINING STREETS, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY
FOR VIOLATIONS UP TO $200.00; PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE:

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS THAT:
SECTION I.
That Section 22-41 of Article III, Parking, Chapter 22 of the
Code of Ordinances be amended to read:
Section 22-41. Fifteen -minute zones.
When signs

on Saturday to 12:00

holidays, it
shall be unlawful for
a
person to leave
standing or
parked, any vehicle

fifteen (15) minutes
that
a vehicle shall be
left continuously
parked in such
zones
shall constitute
a separate offense.

That any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof,
shall be punished by a fine of not more than $200.00. Each
fifteen minute period a violation shall continue shall be deemed
a separate offense.
SECTION III.
In the event any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
provision, sentence or part of this Ordinance or the application
of the same to any person or circumstance shall for any reason be
adjudged invalid or held to be unconstitutional by a court of
competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect, impair, or
invalidate the remainder of this ordinance which shall be given
full force and effect.
SECTION IV.
Upon final passage the City Secretary shall cause this
ordinance's caption to be published in the newspaper of general
jurisdiction and this ordinance shall become effective 10 days
after its publication.
