AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, OF THE

DEVELOPMENT BOARD TO RECOMMEND TO THE COUNCIL CONTRACTS
OVER $5,000 WHEN SUCHNCONFORM TO CITY CHARTER
AND ALL APPLICABLE LAWS; TO ALLOW THE BOARD TO ENTER INTO
AGREEMENTS THAT ARE LESS THAN $5,000 AND WHICH CONFORM WITH
CITY CHARTER AND ALL APPLICABLE LAWS, WITHOUT CITY COUNCIL
APPROVAL, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Tourism Development Board, created by the City
Council of the City of Georgetown through Ordinance No.
870391.002, as an adjunct of the City Council to advise the City
on the expenditure of certain tourism related revenue, deems it
necessary to request amendment of such ordinance to allow the
Board to recommend to the Council contracts over $5,000 with
certain tourism providers when such contracts conform to City
Charter and to enter into contractual agreements when such
contracts conform to City Charter and all applicable state and
local laws for expenditures less than :,
SECTION5,000 without Council
approval, and with the approval of the City Manager as required
by Charter.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 00
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: �Iv

preamble of this ordinance are true and correct and are adopted
herein,
SECTION IT,
That the City of Georgetown Code of Ordinances, Or i c .
703 ..002, Section I. 2.29 Laj.Jf2l"Authorization" is hereby
amended to reed as follows:
"Section I.
2.29 Authorization
(a) () recommend to the ounci. , for action, contracts over
$5,000 with certain tourism providers when such contracts
conform to the City Charter, and all applicable state and
local laws
For expenditures less than $5,000, the Tourism Development
Board may approve expenditures less than $5,000, without
Council approval, for expenses allowed by law for its funds
upon approval by the City Manager as required by Charter."
