WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas has previously recognized
that many provisions of the City Code are out-of-date, no longer appropriate for the current needs
of the City and, in certain circumstances, not in conformance with applicable law; and
WHEREAS, in light of the recognition, the City Council approved the process of
recodification of the entire City Code, including addressing the obsolete provisions; and
WHEREAS, as part of this review and process, Ordinance No. 900123 correctly repealed
Secs 12-1 through 12-5 (which repeal was reaffirmed by Ordinance No. 900182), and correctly
repealed Secs 12-20 through 12-28 "Health Department; Board of Health; Director"; and
WHEREAS, as part of this review and process, Ordinance No. 900123 incorrectly
repealed Sec.s 12-30 through 12-38 "Food Sanitation"; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists regarding the immediate preservation of the public
safety which necessitates that the requirement for two readings of this Ordinance be dispensed
with;
NOW ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCILOF 1 CITYOF
GEORGETOWN,
SECTION I.
The City Council adopts the recital set forth above as true and correct and the same are adopted
herein verbatim as if fully set forth at length.
SECTION II.
Ordinance No. 900123 is hereby amended by reinstating Sections 12-30 through 12-38 of Article
IIL, "Food Sanitation", of Chapter 12, "Health and Sanitation" of the Georgetown City Code.
SECTION III.
All Ordinances, parts of Ordinances, or Resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed
to the extent of such conflict.

the validity, force or effect of any other article, paragraphs or part of a paragraph of the
remainder of this Ordinance.
SECTION V.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon Emergency Reading.
