ORDINANCE •
AN ORDINANCE - RATE FOR THE CITY
GEORGETOWN FOR THEPROVIDING
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE: AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE D.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas is an incorporated Home Rule city dependent
upon taxes to provide it's citizens with services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to levy taxes for the 1992/93 fiscal year
for the City of Georgetown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has met all of the prerequisites for the levying of taxes
within the city; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
ordinance implements Finance Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states:
"The City will conduct all municipal operations in an efficient business -like manner", and further
finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other
Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy
Plan.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown (the "City Council") hereby
finds that all of the prerequisites to the levying of a tax rate for this City for the year 1992,
(including, without limitation, certifications, notices, submittals, and public hearings) as required
by law have been complied with.
SECTION 3. The City Council does hereby levy and adopt the tax rate on $100
valuation for the tax year 1992 as follows.
20825 for the purpose of maintenance and operation
$418175 for the principal and interest on debt of this city
10 39000 total tax rate
SECTION 4. If any section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or provision of this Ordinance
shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this
Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than the part so declared to be
invalid or unconstitutional.

SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective upon adoption of its second and
final reading by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas.
PASSED AND APPROVED on First Reading on the 8f4 day of September, 1992,
PASSED AND APPROVED on Second Reading on the oUrx/day of September, 1992.
