AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY'S SINGLE -MEMBER
DISTRICT PLAN TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREAS TO BE
ANNEXED: 81.89 ACRE TRACT OWNED BY POTTERY & MORE, INC;
108 ACRE TRACT KNOWN AS KATY CROSSING; 227.12 ACRES
LOCATED ADJACENT TO FM2338 BETWEEN THE INTERSECTION OF
FM2338 AND CEDAR BREAKS ROAD TO THE INTERSECTION OF FM
2338 AND THE SOUTHEASTERN PROPERTY LINE OF THE CASA
LOMA SUBDIVISION; AND PHASE 1 OF SUN CITY GEORGETOWN;
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS;
INCLUDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in Ordinance 91-30, the City Council adopted the City's current single
member district plan;
WHEREAS, such plan was later approved by the United States Department of Justice to
be used for selection of elected officials for the Mayorial and City Councilmember elections
within the City of Georgetown;
WHEREAS, the City is currently in the process of annexing certain property adjacent to
the City limits;
WHEREAS, these proposed annexations of property adjacent to the City limits of the City
of Georgetown require that the City amend its single member district plan to incorporate these
newly annexed properties within the City's single member district plan for election purposes;
WHEREAS, the City election will occur immediately after the completion of certain of
these annexations;
WHEREAS, since the approval of the U.S. Department of Justice is required to amend
the City's single member district plan, and such approval must be submitted well in advance of
the City's election date;
WHEREAS, these recent annexations do not contain a significant number of residents,
such that the existing single member district boundaries must be redrawn;
WHEREAS, each of the annexed tracts is immediately adjacent to only one existing single
member district boundary line;
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that the addition of these annexed tracts
to the adjacent single member district is in the best interest of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this

ordinance implements Governmental Affairs Policy 2 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element,
which states: "The City will encourage all citizens to actively participate in governmental
functions", and further finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in conflict
with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter
of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The following boundary additions to the City's single member district plan
are hereby adopted:
a. The 81.89 acre tract owned by Pottery & More, Inc., as more fully described in
the documents attached as Exhibit A, shall be added to District 1.
b. The 108 acre tract known as Katy Crossing, as more fully described in the
documents attached as Exhibit B, shall be added to District 7.
C, The 227.12 acres located adjacent to FM 2338, as more (ally described in the
documents attached as Exhibit C, shall be added to District 4.
d. The 983.34 acre tract known as Sun City Georgetown, Phase 1, as more fiilly
described in the documents attached as Exhibit D, shall be added to District 4.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in
conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed, and are no longer of any force and effect.
SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or
circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or
application thereof, of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
SECTION 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City
Secretary to attest. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect in (10)
ten days on and after publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of
Georgetown, or on the effective date of the annexation ordinance, whichever date is later.

BEGINNING, for the POINT OF BEGINNING hereof, at the southernmost corner of the Crouch
tract, said POINT OF BEGINNING lying in the northwest margin of Cedar Breaks Rd. in the
existing Georgetown City Limits line, and also being the southernmost corner of the southwestern
line of the herein described annexation tract, thence proceeding as follows:
1. Thence leaving the POINT OF BEGINNING and proceeding in a northwesterly direction
along the southwestern line of Crouch, said line being in common with the tract conveyed
to the United States of America in Volume 514, Page 432 of the Williamson County,
Texas land records and with the existing Georgetown City Limits line, to the westernmost
northwest corner of Crouch;
2. THENCE continuing in a northeasterly direction along the northwestern line of Crouch,
said line being in common with the southeastern line of the North Lake Ltd, tract, to a
point on said line which is a distance of 500' southwest of the centerline of FM 2338;
3. THENCE leaving Crouch and proceeding northwesterly parallel to FM 2338 and at a
500' distance southwest of the highway centerline through the interior of North Lake Ltd.
to the northwestern line of said, same line being in common with the southeastern line of
the Mersiosky tract;
4. THENCE leaving North Lake Ltd. and proceeding northwesterly parallel to FM 2338 and

lying in the southwestern margin of FM 2338 and the eastern corner of the J. Wolf

7. THENCE leaving FM 2338 and proceeding westerly along the northwestern line of Olde
Oak, said line being in common with the southern line of J. Wolf (688/589), to the
westernmost corner of Olde Oak, said corner being at or near the northeastern corner of
the Jay L. Wolf (676/557) tract;
8. THENCE leaving J. Wolf (688/589) and proceeding southwesterly along the northwest
line of Olde Oak and the southeast line of Jay L. Wolf (676/557), to the southwestern line
of the George Thompson Survey, said line being at or near the southwestern corner of
the Thompson Survey and the northeastern corner of the Isaac Jones Survey, and said line
also lying in common with the northeastern line of the Jones Survey, the northwestern

9. THENCE leaving Olde Oak and proceeding in a westerly direction through the interior
of Jay L. Wolf (676/557), to an interior corner of said Jay L. Wolf, said corner also

line of the herein described annexation tract;
THENCE leaving said southwestern line of the herein described annexation tract and proceeding
along the northwestern line of said tract, as follows:
1. THENCE proceeding in a northeasterly direction along the northwestern line of Bettie
Wolf, said line lying in the southeastern line of Casa Loma, to the southwestern margin
of FM 2338, said margin lying in common with the easternmost corner of Casa Loma and
the northernmost corner of Bettie Wolf;
2. THENCE leaving Bettie Wolf, crossing FM 2338 in a northeasterly direction, and
proceeding to the northeastern margin of the highway, said margin also lying in common
with the westernmost corner of W.D. Ischy and with the southernmost corner of the
Bradford tract;
3. THENCE leaving FM 2338 and proceeding in a northeasterly direction along the
northwestern line of Ischy, said line being in common with the southeastern line of
Bradford, to the northernmost corner of Ischy, said corner being in common with the
southernmost northerly interior corner of the Bradford tract, and being the northern
terminus point of the northwestern line of the herein described annexation tract;
THENCE leaving the terminus of the northwestern line of the herein described annexation tract
and continuing along its northeastern line, which is a minimum distance of 1000' from the
previously described southwestern annexation tract line, the intent herein being that said northeast
line lie at least 1000' from the previously described southwest line of the annexation tract; and

3. THENCE leaving Lot 1 and continuing northeasterly along the northwestern line of Lot
28A and the southeastern line of Bradford, to the northern corner of Lot 28A, said corner
being in common with the southwestern corner of Lot 28B in Chaparro Estates;
4. THENCE leaving Lot 28A and continuing northeasterly along the northwestern line of

6. THENCE crossing Sedro Trail in a southeasterly direction and proceeding to said's

the southeastern margin of Sedro Trail, to the northernmost corner of Lot 8, said corner
lying in common with the northwestern corner of Lot 9 in Chaparro Estates;

9. THENCE leaving Chaparro Estates Lot 8 and proceeding southeasterly along the
southwestern line of Deavers, said line being in common with the northeastern line of
Warnock, to the northwestern line of the Gabriel Estates subdivision, which lies in
common with the easternmost corner of Warnock and the southernmost corner of
Deavers;
10. THENCE proceeding northeasterly along the southeastern line of Deavers and the
northwestern line of Gabriel Estates, to the northernmost corner of Gabriel Estates, Block
A, Lot 6, which lies in common with the westernmost corner of Gabriel Estates, Block
A, Lot 7;
11. THENCE leaving Lot 6 and continuing northeasterly along the northwestern line of Lot

southeasterly direction, and proceeding to the northernmost corner of Lot 6 in Block B
of Gabriel Estates, said corner lying in the southeast margin of Penny Lane and being in
common with the western corner of Gabriel Estates, Block B, Lot 7;

of Green, said line being in common with the westernmost northern interior line of
McNeil, to the northernmost corner of Green, which lies in common with a northern
interior corner of McNeil;
22. THENCE continuing in a southerly direction along the easternmost line of Green, said
line being in common with the easternmost southwestern interior line of McNeil, to the
easternmost southeast corner of Green, which lies in common with a southeastern interior

23. THENCE continuing in a southwesterly direction along the southernmost southeastern line
of Green, which lies in common with a northwestern interior line segment of McNeil, to
a point at or near the southernmost corner of Green, this corner being a 500' distance
northeast of the FM 2338 centerline, and being at or near a southern interior corner of
McNeil;
24. THENCE leaving Green and proceeding southeasterly parallel to FM 2338 and at a 500'
distance northeast of the highway centerline through the interior of McNeil to the
southeast line of said tract, said line being in common with the northwest line of the Glass
tract;
25. THENCE leaving McNeil and proceeding southeasterly parallel to FM 2338 and at a 500'
distance northeast of the highway centerline through the interior of Glass to the southeast
line of said tract, said line being in common with the northwest line of the C.B. Stewart

26. THENCE leaving Glass and proceeding southeasterly parallel to FM 2338 and at a 500'
distance northeast of the highway centerline through the interior of C.B. Stewart to the
northernmost line of the E.R. Stewart tract, said line being also in common with the

27. THENCE continuing easterly along the northernmost line of E.R. Stewart, said line being
in common with the northernmost southern interior line of C.B. Stewart, to the
northeastern corner of E.R. Stewart, said corner being in common with the southeastern
