GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 13.04.180(A) OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
RELATING TO RATES AND CHARGES — SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL
— SCHEDULE; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND
RESOLUTIONS; INCLUDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, authorizes the rates and
charges for solid waste disposal; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a monthly bulky waste pick-up program and
fees for this service;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
that:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found
and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made
a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council finds that this resolution implements Utilities
& Energy Policy #5 of the Century Plan -Policy Plan Element, which states, "The City will provide
water, wastewater, electricity, and solid waste collection services which meet the immediate and
future needs of all citizens and which encourages and provides for economic development," and
further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other
Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The attached "Exhibit A" relating to "13.04.180 Rates and Charges — Solid Waste
Disposal — Schedule" is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in conflict with
this ordinance are hereby repealed, and are no longer of any force and effect.
SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance,
shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof, of
this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.

SECTION 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City Secretary to attest.
this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect in ten (10) days on and after
publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Georgetown.
PASSED AND APPROVED on First Reading on the 14th day of February, 1995.
PASSED AND APPROVED on Second Reading on the 28th day of February, 1995.

B. If service is rendered during any portion of any month the customer will be required to pay
a prorated fee for service.
C. Except as provided in this section, all owners, occupants, tenants and lessees using or
occupying any building, house or structure within the corporate limits of the City shall be
required to use exclusively the City's waste disposal services.
D. The City Manager shall establish the hours and days of collection and a complaint procedure.
E. The contractor will guarantee, on a fiscal year basis, a fixed rate on the City's roll -off service
from the Collection Station and other City projects.
F. Hauling Charge: This rate will remain fixed until/unless a request for an increase to this
charge is approved by the City Council.
G. Disposal Charge: This charge will be based on the current "Gate Rate" at the Williamson
County Landfill. It will equal the Gate Rate times the size of the Roll -Off container. The
Georgetown City Council will be given a 30 -day written notice prior to Williamson county
Landfill raising their rates.
