AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AMENDING THE SUBDIVISION
REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, TO
RESTORE THE ANNEXATION PETITION REQUIREMENT TO THE
PUBLIC REVIEW FINAL PLAT PROCEDURES SECTION AND THE
LEGAL PROPERTY STATUS REQUIREMENT TO THE DETAILED
DEVELOPMENT PLAN FORMAT SECTION AND TO CORRECT MINOR
TECHNICAL ERRORS; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES
AND RESOLUTIONS; INCLUDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, staff discovered that the requirement for an annexation petition for a public
review final plat and the requirement for a copy of the deed or plat indicating the legal status of
a property for a detailed development plan were inadvertently removed from the Subdivision
Regulations when they were amended to change the procedures for platting and developing land;
and
WHEREAS, the restoration of these requirements will allow for the implementation of
the Subdivision Regulations as intended ; and
WHEREAS, other minor technical errors in the Subdivision Regulations were also
discovered and have been corrected; and
WHEREAS, this amendment is intended to restore the requirements which were
inadvertently omitted and to correct the errors; and
WHEREAS, the caption of this ordinance was printed in the Williamson County Sun on
Wednesday August 6, 1997, in compliance with the City Charter of the City of Georgetown;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT.
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
ordinance implements:
1. Governmental Affairs End 6.1 which states "All citizens actively participate in
governmental functions"; and

2. Growth and Physical Development End 7.1 which states "The City's regulations
implement the Policy Ends and provide the opportunity to seek change with reasonable
effort and expense";
and further finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in conflict with any
other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the
Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. Section 24040 is amended to include the following in the list of application
requirements to be submitted:
"A letter petitioning for annexation, if applicable. The letter must contain a
notarized signature of the property owner(s) and include a metes and bounds
description of the property. "
SECTION 3. Section 27030 is amended to include the following in the list of application
requirements to be submitted:
"Copy of deed or plat showing legal status of property. "
SECTION 4. Various minor technical and typographical errors are hereby corrected.
SECTION 5. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in
conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed, and are no longer of any force and effect.
SECTION 6. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or
circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or
application thereof, of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
SECTION 7. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City
Secretary to attest. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect in (10)
ten days on and after publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of
Georgetown.
