AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF: 0.80 OF AN ACRE OF LAND IN THE
EPHRAIM EVANS SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 212, LOCATED NEAR THE
SOUTHEAST CORNER OF IH35 AND WESTINGHOUSE ROAD, AS DESCRIBED
IN EXHIBIT A OF THIS ORDINANCE; WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES
ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AND NOT BEING A PART OF ANY
INCORPC .' TED AREA; PROVIDING FOR SERVICE PLANS; REPEALING
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS; INCLUDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, may under the Charter of
said City, Section 1.06, annex areas as allowed by State law; and
WHEREAS, State law gives authority to municipalities to annex sparsely occupied areas on
the petition of the area landowners when the area is one-half mile or less in width, contiguous to tte
municipality, and is vacant and without residents or on which fewer than three qualified voters
reside; and
WHEREAS, a written petition forannexation was received from the owners of the 0.80 OF
AN ACRE OF LAND IN THE EPHRAIM EVANS SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 212, describing the
area by metes and bounds; and
WHEREAS, this property is one-half mile or less in width, is contiguous to the City limits of
the City of Georgetown, and is vacant and without residents or has fewer than three qualified votes
residing on it; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas heard the petition and the
arguments for and against the annexation at a meeting of the City Council on September22, 1998,
and acted to grant the petition; and
WHEREAS, at such hearing of the petition, a proposed service plan was presented to and
discussed by the Council and all interested persons; and
WHEREAS, all of the herein -described property lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of
the City of Georgetown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, all notices and other prerequisites of state law and fie City Charter have been
complied with;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT.
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
ordinance implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element:
1. Environmental and Resource Conservation Policy 1, which states: "The Physical
attributes that make Georgetown attractive are protected"; and
2. Growth and Physical Development Policy 1, which states: "Land use patterrs within the
City provide economic, cultural, and social activities to all residents, businesses and
organizations"; and
3. Growth and Physical Development Policy 2, which states: "The City's regulations
implement the policy statements and provide the opportunity to seek change with
reasonable effort and expense"; and
4. Growth and Physical Development Policy 3, which states: "Annexations procedures arra
standards benefit the community";
and further finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in conflict withany other
Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Poicy Plan,
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby annexes: 0.80 OF AN
ACRE OF LAND IN THE EPHRAIM EVANS SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 212, as described in Exhibit
A of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. The annexation fees for voluntary annexation are hereby waived.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in
conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed, and are no longer of any force and effect.
SECTION 5. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or
circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or applicatirn
thereof, of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invald provision or applicanon, and
to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
SECTION 6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City Secretary
to attest. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect in (10) ten days on
and after publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Georgetown.

BEING 0.80 of an acre of land, situate0-in the BphraiinEvans Survey, Abstract No. 212, in
Williamson County, Texas, said land I a portion of that certain tract of land, called 12 it
as conveyed to John 11. Nash, Jr„ by decd as recorded in Volume 383, Page 43, of the Deed
Records of Williamson County, Texas. Surveyed on the ground in the month of July, 1995, under
the supervision of Don H. Bizzell, Registered Professional Land Surveyor, and being more
particularly described as follows;
BEGINNING at an iron pin found on the east line of Interstate Highway No. 35, marking the
most northerly corner of the•above-referenced 12 acre Nash tract, being on the west line of that
certain tract of land, called 81.89 acres, as conveyed to Pottery and More, Inc. of record in
Volume 2286, Page 216, of the Official Records of Williamson County, Texas, said point being
N 20 0513011 W, 13.49 feet from a concrete monument found, for the most northerly corner
hereof;
TI-IENCE, with a fence, S 9° 44' 30" E, 225.13 feet to a nail found; S V 54'30" E, 192.85 feet to
a nail found; S 60 45' 30" E, 202.14 feet to an iron pin found and S 0° 42130" W, 163.82 feet to
an iron pits found at a fence corner on the east line of the said 12 acre Nash tract, marking the
Northwest corner of that certain Third Tract, called 76.6 acres, as conveyed to John H. Nash, Jr.
and wife, Margaret M. Nash by deed as recorded in Volume 448, Page 326, of the Deed Records
of Williamson County, Texas, for tate Southeast cortterhereof;
THENCE, S 680 11'3011 W, 65.12 feet to an iron pin set on the said cast line of Interstate
Highway No. 35, being the west line of the said 12 aereNash tract for the Southwest corner

CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
ANNEXATION SERVICE PLAN
Introduction
This service plan has been prepared in accordance with Texas Local Government Code,
Chapter 43 - Municipal Annexation. This requires that the service plan provide for the extension
of full municipal services to the area to be annexed by any of the methods by which it extends
services to any other area of the municipality.
Police Protection
Regular and routine patrolling of streets, responses to calls, and other police services will be
provided upon the effective date of the annexation.
Fire Protection and Code Enforcement
Fire protection and prevention services are currently being provided to the area through an
agreement with Williamson County. These services will continue to be provided to -the area upon
the effective date of the annexation. Upon the effective date of the annexation, the City Code
Enforcement Officer will periodically patrol streets in the area to ensure that all properties are in
conformance with City Code.
Solid Waste Collection
Solid waste collection and disposal services will be provided upon the effective date of the
annexation, in accordance with the rates, terms and conditions contained in the City Code,
Water Service
City water service is provided to the site. The City has a Utility Expansion and Improvement Policy
which is referenced in this service plan.
Sewer Service
City wastewater service is provided to the site. The City has a Utility Expansion and Improvement
Policy, which is referenced in this service plan.
Maintenance of Roads Streets and Drainage
Roads, streets and drainage facilities dedicated to the public will be maintained according to City
Code and policy upon the effective date of the annexation.
Street Lighting
Street lighting will be made available upon the effective date of the annexation, upon rquest of the
property owners, in accordance with City Code and policy.

Parks and Recreation
Parks and recreation facilities dedicated to the public will be maintained accordingto City Code and
policy upon the effective date of the annexation. Recreation services will be provided to all
residents in accordance with the rates, terms and conditions contained in the City Code.
Planning and Zoninq
Upon the effective date of the annexation, the planning and zoningjurisdiction of the City will extend
to this area. The area will be zoned A (Agricultural), unless otherwise approved through regular
procedures.
Inspection Services
All inspection services, including building, electrical, plumbing, etc., provided by the City will be
extended to the area upon the effective date of the annexation.
Library Services
Library services will be provided to all residents in accordance with the rates, terms, and corditions
contained in the City Code upon the effective date of the annexation.
Other Services
Other services provided by the City, such as animal control, court, and general administration, will
be made available upon the effective date of the annexation, in accordance with he City Code and
policies.
Utility Expansion and Improvement Policy
City Ordinance Number 900404, a Utility Expansion and Improvement Policy, guides the planning,
design, construction, operation, and maintenance of all utility system improvements, including water,
wastewater and electrical service.
