HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 98-41 - No Parking Zones41RDINANCE NO. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, deems it necessary and proper to amend Section 10.16.040, C. "No Parking Zones Designated", 5. "Rock Street", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to amend the area on Rock Street designated as a no parking zone; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, deems it necessary and proper to amend Section 10.16.040, C. "No Parking Zones Designated" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to add a section designating a portion of Ash Street as a no parking zone; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, deems it necessary and proper to amend Section 10.16.040, C. "No Parking Zones Designated" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to add a section designating a portion of Martin Luther King, Jr. Street as a no parking zone; and WHEREAS, the Council finds that it is necessary and proper and in the best interest of the citizens of Georgetown to adopt the changes hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, that: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this ordinance implements Transportation Policy 12.0 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "Georgetown's transportation system provides for the safe and efficient movement of traffic, promotes the economic interests of the community, and adequately serves the needs of individuals."; and further finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. Amendments to Traffic Ordinancerelating to No Parking Zones Ordinance No. _ - _ Page 1 of 3 SECTION 2. Section 10.16.040,C.,5. of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows: "5. Rock Street., along the east and west curblines of Rock Street between West Fifth Street and West Sixth Street to a point fifty (50) feet north of the north curbline of West Fifth Street." SECTION 3. Section 10.16.040,C. of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas is hereby amended to add as the next consecutive numbered paragraph as follows: " Ash Street., along the west curbline of Ash Street beginning at the north curbline of Eleventh Street and extending north twenty-five feet and beginning at the south curbline of Eleventh Street and extending south twenty-five feet. " SECTION 4, Section 10.16.040,C. of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas is hereby amended to add as the next consecutive numbered paragraph as follows: " Martin Luther King, Jr. Street: along the east curbline of Martin Luther King Street from the south curbline of West Third Street to the north curbline of West Seventh Street." SECTION 5. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed, and are no longer of any force and effect. SECTION 6. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof, of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. SECTION 7. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City Secretary to attest. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect in (10) ten days on and after publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Georgetown.
