WHEREAS, there the Board of Electrical Examiners has made a motion to combine the Board of
Electrical Examiners and the Building Standards Commission, and
WHEREAS, by adding two electrical positions so that the work of the Board of Electric Examiners can
be carried on by an expanded Building Standards Commission, and
WHEREAS, this will increase the Building Standards Commission's membership to eleven by adding
two electricians with the qualifications of at least 6 years of active experience as an unrestricted journeyman or
master electrician;
WHEREAS, the caption of this ordinance was printed in the Austin -American Statesman on December
3, 1998 in compliance with the City Charter of the City of Georgetown.
NOW, THEREFOREBE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
GEORGETOWN9
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are hereby found
and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof,
as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this ordinance implements the following policies of
the Century Plan:
A. Urban Design Policy 10.0 which states, "The City cooperates with builders, developers and property
owners to provide safe and adequate housing opportunities for all citizens." and
B. Urban Design Policy 13.0 which states, "Georgetown has a positive, identifiable image and an attractive
appearance";
and further finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century
Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan,
SECTION 2. Chapter 2.64.010 of the Georgetown Municipal Code of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
is hereby amended as shown in Exhibit A.
SECTION 3.
All ordinances
and resolutions, or
parts
of ordinances and resolutions, in conflict with this
Ordinance are hereby
repealed, and are no longer of any
force
and effect.
SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance,
shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof, of this
Mipal Code Ord. No.910

ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
SECTION 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City Secretary to attest.
This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect in (10) ten days on and after publication in
accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Georgetown.

A. Section 2.64.010 (F) and (G) of Chapter 2.64 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Georgetown, Texas is hereby added to read as follows:
F. With the addition of one full time member with experience in electrical with the
qualifications of at least six years of active experience as an unrestricted journeyman or master
electrician;
G. With the addition of one alternate member with the experience in electrical with the
qualifications of at least six years active experience as an unrestricted journeyman or master
electrician;
