WHEREAS, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 900213 Section 2 in 1990,
codified as Chapter 2.16.010 and 2.16.020 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Georgetown, adopting the monthly salary for the Mayor and City Councilmembers at $250
and $100, respectively;
WHEREAS, the City Council, by minute action on June 24, 1997, adopted a salary
increase of $100 for City Officers;
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby amends Chapter 2.16 to provide for a monthly
salary of $350 for the Mayor and $200 for Council members; and
WHEREAS, the caption of this ordinance was printed in the Williamson County Sun
on November 6, 2000 in compliance with the City Charter of the City of Georgetown;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance
are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby
finds that this ordinance implements the following elements of the Century Plan Policy Plan
and that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other
Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the
Policy Plan:
X Finance Policy 5.0: All municipal operations are conducted in an efficient
business -like manner and sufficient financial resources for both short-term
and long-term needs are provided; and
X Governmental Affairs Policy 6.0 - A high level of cooperation and involvement
exists among Georgetown's citizens and governmental organizations.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby amends Chapter
2.16 of the Code of Ordinances, entitled "SALARIES OF OFFICERS" as follows:
«2.16.010 MAYOR'S SALARY.

The Mayor shall be paid a salary of $350.00 per month, paid monthly; during
the term for which he/she is elected."
"2.16.020 CITY COUNCIL SALARIES
Each Councilmember shall receive a salary of $200.00 per month, paid
monthly, during the term for which he/she is elected."
SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City
Secretary to attest. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect
in (10) ten days on and after publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter
of the City of Georgetown.
