AND PUBLIC -HEARING BEFORE CITY COUNCIL

CERTAIN PROPOSED ACTIONS UNDER THEil URBAN RE~

Whereas, said Urban Renewal Law authorizes the exercis of certain
Powers thereunder by any such city, town or village and by kn k urban renewal
agency as provided for in said Urban Reneual Law, for the elimination and
prevention of the spread of such slum and blighted areas, plovided that the
governing body of such city, town or village shall Dave e

be desirable that said City avail itself of the provisions o said Urban
Renewal Law, including; the provisions thereof pertaining to ir. urban renewal
agency created in said City by said lawn and

Section It is hereby found and deterri_ned, that one or more slun,
or blighted areas exist in the City of Georgeto,r ,
Section 2. It is hereby- found, and determined that the rehab iIi tati.on,
_._._ con=servation, or sl.urz clearance and redevelopment, or a combination
thereof, of such slum or lighted. area or areas, is necessary Inn the
interest of public health., safety, morals or welfare of the residents
of said City*
'Section 3. It is .hereby further determined that the City of C eor�;etolmn
shall exercise the powers�>ran.ted. to the City by the iTrraar. p�eneweI
Law of the State of Texas, except the ?Trban Renewal Project Pojxrers as
d.efin.ed in said Urban Renewal, Law+
Section 4. It is hereby further determined to be necessary and in
the public interest that the City of Georgetown elect, and accordingly,
the City hereby elects to have said. Urban Renewal Project Powers ex-
ercised by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of. Georgetown, which
Agency is created -by said U2�rzan Renewal Law,

in the same sense as used or defined in said Urban Renewal La-w.I
