ARTICLE I
DEFINITIONS
SECTION Is To safeguard and promote public health in the City of Georgetown
Texas, the following definitions shall apply in the interpretatiol and en«
forcernt'of this ordinance.
Ia) The term'{food handler" shall mean any person employed or working
in a food establishment who handles food and/or drink during preparation or
serving, or who comes in contact with any eating, drinking, or cooking utensil
or who works in a room or rooms in which food or drink is prepared, served or
stored.
(b) The terra "food establishment" shall mean any hotel, restaurant,
cafe, , tever, grocery store, bakery, fruit. stand, `bottling plant, or any other
place where food or drink is handled. stored, packed, served, or sold in the
City of eor &etowne Texas,'
ARTICLE II
EXATMINATIOMSo REGISTRATIONS
SECTION I. FOOD HANDLERS TO COMPLY NITH STATE LAWS AND CITE'
ORDINANCES AND SECURE REGISTRATIONS MERTIFICATES.

It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm, ,corporation, or
association, managing or conducting any food establishment where food or
drink or containers oaf any kind is manufactured, transferred, prepared, stored,
packed, served, sold or otherwise haandled, to work or employ any food handler
until such food handler has fully complied with all state laws and regulations
and all City ordinances now or hereafter�enaeted and with all the provisions of
this ordinance, until such food handler has received a food handler's registration
certificate from the 1r111liamson County Health Department which is valid at the
time of such employment.
SECTION II. ISSUANCE OF REGISTRATION CERTIFICATESs
The Williamson County Health Department shall issue food handlers' re-
gistration certificates to food handlers whosatisfactorilypass the test and
health examinations hereinafter described, which certificates shall be valid
for -the-length of time hereinafter specified and shall be required to be renewed
as hereinafter stated*
SECTION III. HEALTH EXAMINATION:
No food handler's registration certificate for use in the City of
GBor e , Texas, shall be issued by the Williamson County Health Departme
to any persona required by law or by this ordinance to have or exhibit such
certificate, certifying the holder to be free from contagious, infectious or
communicable diseases, until the applicant for such certificate shall have be
first tested and examined under the recognized standard test for syphilis, wh'
must be given by the Williamson County Health Department or the Texas State
Health Department , or by a physician licensed to practice in Williamson, Cou
Texas. and if the specimen is then found to have no positive reaction, the
applicant must then secure a certificate from a licensed practicing physician
indicating that the r3 >:3wcai;ax ination shows the applicant to be free of al
contagious, infectious, or communicable diseases, which certificate must then
presented to the Williamson County health Departmento

SECTION IV. TUBERCULOSIS EYWAINATIONS
In addition to the foregoing, each such applicant
once each year to be further examined for tuberculosis by t
test and/or xaray examination of the lungs, and in the even
takes the tuberculin skin test and it shows a positive reac

Department. In the event the tuberculin skin test and/or
of the lungs show the applicant to be free of tuberculosis,

ARTICLE III
ENFORCMEzn ,PENALTIES, REPEAL, ETC.

Any person who shall violate any of the provisions hereof shall be
guilty of misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be fined ih any sum not less
than Ten Dollars ( $10.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars :200.00) and each
day that a violation hereof continues shall constitute a separate offense.'
SECTION IV. REPEALING CLAUSES
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict wi`h this ordinance
are hereby expressly repealed insofar as the same are in con lict with this
ordinance*

If any pare of this ordinance be declared invalid for any reason,
such valid part shall not affect the remainder hereof and such remainder
shall remain in full force and effects

From Georgetown South City Limits, Station 50493.2, to '.station 4000 a
distance of 0.207 mile, a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour.
From Station 4000 to Station 1730 a, distance of 0.430 mile, a maximum
speed of 30 miles per hour.
That the maximum rate of speed for motor vehicles upon each of the remaining
streets of the City of Georgetown shall remain at the rate of speed fixed by
other existing city ordinances.
Section II
That all of the ;streets of this City, and all portions of any such streets,
are hereby declared to be public streets, and that the driving or operating
of any motor -vehicle on or along any portion of any street of this City at
a rate of zpeed that is greater than the maximum rate of speed for said
portion, of said street, as fixed by this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, which is named, "The Offense of Speeding", and that the said
£.. offense is punishable by fine in any sum not less than one dollar ( 1.00)
no more than two hundred dollars (200.00) . That the use of the word
"Speeding" shall be sufficient to designate the said offense, and shall mean
that a motor vehicle has been driven upon a public street, at a greater
rate of speed than that fixed by City Ordinance for the street and for the
zone thereof, that such motor vehicle vies so being driven upon, if zoned.
That in prosecutions under this ordinance, for the offense of speeding, the
complaint, if in other respect sufficient in form, shall as to the portion
thereof seeking to acknowledge the offense, be sufficient if it in substance
alleges that the defendant did while driving a motor vehicle in said City
commit the offense of "Speeding."
Section III
That should any section, or any portion of any section hereof be decreed to
be void, the invalidity of such section or such portion thereof shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and that
each section and each portion thereof, not decreed to be invalid shall remain
valid and enforceable.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances that are in conflict with this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
That the fact that prompt action should be taken in the regulation of traffics
on the streets of this City, in the manner provided for in this ordinance
creates an emergency requiring that the rules that provide that an ordinance
shall be read at three separate meetings of the City Council before final pas"
sage; be suspended, and that the said rules are hereby suspended, and this
ordinance is here and now passed, and that it is ordered that it take effect
from and after its passage and publication.
