HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 02.13.1956 - Levying Advalorem Taxes109 AN ORDINANCE OF .THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, T A , LEVYING ADVALORE =i TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1956, .AND DIRECTING THE COLLECTION ,APD DISTRIBUTION OF SAID TA BS, 91D DECLARING .AN EMERGENCY, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEAS** t That the year, 1956, there shall be levied and col looted an adva.lorem tax of one 25%100 ($1.25) dollars, on all property subject to taxation by said City, under the constitution and laws of the State of Texas, as per the Ist day of January,1956p and at a tax rate of one 25/100 (J',o1.25) dollars on each one hundred („k100.00 dollars in valuation. That when the said taxes, are collected, the same shall be applied and paid out as folltnrs 1. To the General Fund, for the support and maintenance of the government of the said City 1.07 cents, of each one & 25/100 dollars, collected. 2. To the ?fond. Fund, of that series of bonds of the said City, knovm as Street Bonds, 10 cents, of each one & 25/100 dollars, collected. 3. To the, Bond Fund, of that series of bonds of the said City knovai as Airport `Bo ds 8 cents of each one & 25/100 dollars, collected. The fact that prompt preparation must be made for the assessing and collection of taxes for the year 1956, creates an emergency rem quiring the rules providing that an ordinance shall be read at three separate meetings before final passage shall be suspended, and such rules are here and now suspended and this ordinance passed, and it is ordered that it take effect from and after its passage.
