AN ORDINANCE OF TIME CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS:
That from and after the passage of this ordinance,, the Mayor of
this City shall be paid a salary of forty ($40400) dollars per month,

for each month of the term for which he has been elected, the same being
paid monthly, asit accrues.
That .from and after the passage of this ordinance, each alder-
man shall be paid a salary of ten ($10.00) dollars per month, for each
month for which he was elected, the said salary being paid each month
as it accrues during such term of office.
That the salary of each of said officers as above fixed shall
be and continue the salaries paid to the Mayor of the said City and to
each Alderman of the said City that may hereafter be elected to said

respective offices.
That the fact that the salaries of Mayor and Alderman should
be so fixed, that a new ordinance is not necessary to fix salaries,
prior to each election of any of such officer, creates an emergency,
making it necessary that the rules that require that an ordinance be
read at each seaparate meetings before final passage, for three meet-
ings, should be suspended, and that the said rules are here and now
suspended, and this ordinance is at once passed, and it is ordered
