.AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOMN, TEXAS, DECLARING
THAT THE OPERATION OF .A CARNIVAL WITHIN LESS THAN Mo
HUNDRED YARDS OF A PRIVATE RESIDENCE WITHIN THE SID CITY,
ISA NUISANCE: AND PROHIBITING SUCH NUICE AND FIXING

.BE IT, ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
That the operation of a Carnival, within a distance of Less than
two hundred yards of any private residences within this City is hereby
declared to be a nuisance, and it is hereby made an offence to operate or
assist in the operation of such Carnival at any place within this City that
is located within less than two hundred yards of any private residence
situated in said City; and that any person who shall hereafter operate any
such Carnival and/or who shall hereafter assist in the operation of any
Carnival, in this City, at a place that is located within less than two

hundred yards of any private residence in this City shall, upon conviction,#
be punished by`a fine of not less than one dollar and not more than two
hundred` dollars, and that each day that such Carnival may be so operated
shall constitute a separate offence«

That the term "Carnival," as .used herein shall be construed
to be and to mean all shows$ amusements, entertainments, and all
combinations of shags, entertainments, amusements, that are commonly
designated or known under the name "Traveling Carnival" or "Shows",
irrespective of the name or designation thereof that may be used by
the person or persons who may operate same, or who may assist in

ing that is commonly given said word, and it shall apply to and include
every person who may in any manner be connected with the conducting
of such Carnival
That the 'words, :assist in the operations' as used herein
shall include every person who may in any manner lend assistance to
or aid in the operation of the Carnival; and said words shall be
construed to apply to and include any person or persons who shall
knowing, grant, rent, lease or permit any lands under his control,
for use or to be used by such Carnival, in the operation thereof.
