HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 02.03.2004 CC-SMINUTES OF THE SPECIALOF GOVERNINGBODY OF CITY OF i i' • Council Present: Gary Nelon, Patty Eason, Gabe Sansing, Doug Smith, Jack Noble, John Kirby, Farley Snell Regular Session: Called to order at 5:00 p.m. Staff Present: Paul Brandenburg, City Manager Trish Carls, City Attorney Sandra Lee, City Secretary A Consideration of appointment of a canvassing team of councilmembers to canvass the results of the January 24 Runoff Election — Mayor Gary Nelon Mayor appointed Noble and Smith. Motion by Kirby, second by Sansing to approve the appointment of the canvassing team. Approved 6-0. Noble and Smith left the dais to canvass the results of the election. Upon their return to the dais, it was determined that 391 total votes were cast in the election, with 196 votes for Mark Ramsey and 195 votes for Ben Oliver. The canvass team determined that the paperwork was in order. B Consideration of approval of a resolution canvassing the votes for the January 24, 2004 Runoff Election and declaring the election results to be official — Sandra Lee, City Secretary Motion by Sansing, second by Noble to approve resolution. Approved 6-0. C Swearing in of new councilmember for District 7 — Sandra Lee, City Secretary Mark Ramsey was sworn to office by Lee. B. Incoming comments of the new councilmember for District 7 — Sandra Lee, City Secretary Ramsey thanked his supporters with special thanks to his parents, inlaws, and his wife and two daughters. He said he is looking forward to working with a great Council and serving the City of Georgetown.
