HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 09.21.2004 CC-SMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2004 The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Pro Tem Doug Smith A Consideration of appointment of a canvassing team of councilmembers to canvass the results of the September 11, 2004 Special Election — Mayor Gary Nelon Smith appointed Councilmembers Carr and Kirby as the Canvass Team. Carr and Kirby left the dais. Upon return, Kirby confirmed that the results printed on the Official Tabulation of Votes were, in fact, the same results as provided in the media reports from the Williamson County Elections Administrator. Motion by Snell, second by Sansing to approve the canvass of the election results. Approved 6-0. (Oliver absent) B Consideration and possible action to approve a resolution canvassing the returns and officially declaring the results of the City of Georgetown Special Election held on September 11, 2004; and ordering the adoption of new Section 4.16.050 of the City Code of Ordinances, pertaining to tax limits for persons 65 years of age or older or disabled persons, in accordance with the results of the election — Sandra Lee, City Secretary and Trish Carls, City Attorney Motion by Carr, second by Kirby to approve the Canvass Resolution.
