John Morran, Vice President of Cencor Realty Services spoke in Minutes of City Council Meeting June 9, 1992 Page 1 of 4 Pages frontage road along Interstate 35. Frank Parmenter of 4106 Sequoia Trail Easi spoke against any increase in obligation to the City taxpayers. 1 11 11 Out Briggs gave an overview of the need for a drainage utility in Georgetown and introduced Alan Woelke of Cramp Dresser McKee, hired by the City to develop the stormwater utility district. Briggs explained that the creation of this utility district was initiated due to the provision in the Century Plan, the impending federal and state regulations and the need to create revenue to resolve drainage problems. Mike Barnes of 305 Norwood Drive expressed two concerns. The concerns are that other cities and the surrounding county should also have to adhere to water quality regulations, and that cleaner water in the river needs to be encouraged so that city residents will not have to deal with contamination from other sources, such as pesticides and other pollutants that may enter the river from points outside the city limits. Ed Steiner of 409 W. 3rd Street asked the City and the Police Department to apologize to the black men of Georgetown over an incident that occurred last year involving a former Georgetown Police Officer. 920269 Mayor, Council, City Manager, and staff comments and reports o Council/P&Z Joint Workshop on June 15 at 5:30 p.m. o Southwestern University Reception on June 23, 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Consideration of and possible action on the following items. 920270 Swear in Mayor Pro®Tem/Elizabeth Gray Councilmember Mike McMaster was sworn in as Mayor Pro -Tem by City Secretary Elizabeth Gray. 920271 Approval of professional services to initiate the Electric Utility System Mapping with McCord Engineering Inc./Jim Briggs Briggs explained that the electric system would be the last city utility system to be mapped and eventually entered on the GIS System. Bonner asked for clarification of the amount paid for this service. It was pointed out that the actual cost came in at $10,000 less than the proposed amount. Motion by Bonner, second by Valdez to approve the agreement between the City and McCord Engineering, Inc. Approved 5-0. 920272 Approval of contract with Psencik Construction Company for the construction of the Dove Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant facility in the amount of $2,240,765/Jim Briggs Briggs explained that the original low bid had come in over the allowed budget for the project. Several items have been reworked in order to lower the overall bid. The lab building will be removed from the Treatment Plant Contract and put out for bids to a local contractor.
