The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met in a regular
session on the above date beginning at 7:00 pm with Mayor Tim
Kennedy presiding. The following members of the Council and
officials were present: Councilmembers Ercel Brashear, Winfred
Bonner, Doak Flinn, Barbara Pearce, Mike McMaster, Joe Saegert, and
Shorty Valdez, City Manager Bob Hart, City Attorney Marianne
Landers Banks; City Secretary Elizabeth Gray; Director of Community
Services, Hartley Sappington.

900240 Consideration of and Possible Action Authorizing the

Mayor to Execute a Lease Agreement between Austin
Horizons, I., L.P. and the City of Georgetown for the
River Ridge Pool/ Hartley Sappington and Jack Gregoire
Motion made by Councilmember Saegert and seconded by
Councilmember Pearce to approve the items on the consent
agenda. MOTION CARRIED. unanimous.

900241 Citizens Wishing to Address the Council
There were no citizens wishing to address the Council.
900242 Consideration of and Possible Action on an Ordinance
Canvassing the Results of the May 5, 1990, General City
Election /EMERGENCY READING /Elizabeth Gray
Elizabeth Gray gave special thanks to Deputy City
Secretary Leslie Gregoire for her work in administering
the election.
Dorothy Jones, Voter Registrar, presented the City
Council with election returns as tabulated by her from
filings made by the election precinct judges®
Motion by Barbara Pearce and seconded by Mike McMaster
to certify the results of the election as presented and
to adopt on emergency reading Ordinance No. 900242,
MOTION CARRIED. unanimous.
900243 In Event that a Majority is not Received in District No.
6, the Following Three (3) Items Apply.
A. Councilmembers Brashear and Fling shall draw lots
to Determine Representation of District No. 6.
Be Consideration of and Possible Action on an Election
Order Calling for a Run -Off Election for District
No. 6 to be Held on May 26, 19900
co Call a Special Meeting of the City Council for May
291 1990 to Canvass Votes and Declare the Run -Off
Election Results Official.
A majority was received in District No. 6, therefore this
item did not require consideration.
900244 Special Presentation to Outgoing Councilmembers) /Mayor
Kennedy
Mayor Kennedy gave special thanks to Councilmembers Doak
Fling and Ercel Brashear for their their outstanding
contributions as Councilmembers, and presented each with
a plaque and coffee cup.
There was a break at 7:12, and the Council reconvened at
7:18.
900245 Swearing In of New Mayor /Elizabeth Gray
Bill Connor was sworn in as the new Mayor.
900247 Presentation of Plaque to Outgoing Mayor /Mayor
Mayor Connor presented a plaque to Mayor Kennedy in
thanks for his dedication and commitment to serving the
City of Georgetown. (This item was considered out of the
original agenda order, and ocurred as listed in these
minutes.)
900246 Swearing In of New Councilmembers /Elizabeth Gray
Winfred Bonner was sworn in for his second term as
Councilmember, District 2.
Bob Schrawger
and
Ferdinand
Tonn
were sworn in as new
Councilmembers
for
Districts
6 and
7, respectively.
