BOX 409 GEORGETOWN, TEXAS 78627 -0409 The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met in a Special Meeting which was held jointly with the Planning and Zoning Commission on the above date at 7.30 a.m., with Mayor Tim Kennedy presiding. The following members of the Council were present. Ercel Brashear, Doak Fling, Barbara Pearce, Mike McMaster, Joe Saegert. Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission who attended this meeting are as follows. Steve Bamsch, Patty Eason, John Kuhn, and Wayne Meadows. City officials in attendance weree Bob Hart, City Manager, Diane Callander, City Attorney; Leslie Barone, Deputy City Secretary; Ed Barry, Director of Development and Planning. SPECIAL MEETING - 7:30 A.M. The following topics were discussed by the Councilmembers, Commissioners, Mayor and City Officials in attendance. Zoning Ordinance - A recommendation that continual communication between the Council and Planning & Zoning Commission should occur and that sections of the Zoning Ordinance be reviewed upon completion instead of waiting until completion of the entire Ordinance. Discussion followed regarding the possibility of holding a monthly meeting which would help in updating the Council as to the present status of this project, with written status reports for Council review. The Zoning concept was discussed. Council Modification of Planning & Zoning Recommendations The procedure as to the preferred method in which revisions /modifications of Planning & Zoning Recommendations should be made was discussed. Communication Between Planning & Zoning Commissioners and City Councilmembers /Mayor - A discussion regarding the preference of having staff vs. Planning & Zoning Commissioners present agenda items to the Council for approval, included views from both staff and Commissioners. The opportunity for background and the reasoning behind the Planning & Zoning decisions and /or recommendations would then be able to be discussed with the Council at the time the item was brought to them for action.
