HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 02.03.1988 CC-SFebruary 3, 1988 The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas met in a Special Session on the above date at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Jim Colbert presiding. The following members of Council and officials were present: Councilmembers Luther Laubach, Joan King, Marvin E. Lackey, Barbara Pearce and Mike McMaster, City Secretary Leta F. Willoughby, City Attorney Diane Callander, Director of Finance and Administration Gwen Sherman, Director of Public Works Allyn Moore and Development and Planning Director Ed Barry, SPECIAL MEETING: 7:00 P.M. CONSENT AGENDA 880043 Variance-PUE Encroachment -Berri Lots 13 and 14/John Warden Creek, Section One, Block B, Motion by Councilmember Pearce and second by Councilmember McMaster to grant the variance as recommended by Staff. MOTION: PEARCE SECOND: MCMASTER MOTION CARRIED: UNANIMOUS REGULAR AGENDA 880044 Legislative Update/Randall Gaither Randall Gaither and Michael Lauer presented an overview of legislative changes enacted during the 1987 State legislative session. 880045 Senate Bill 336 Impact Fee Update/Ed Barry Ed Barry discussed Senate Bill 336 regarding impact fees and specifically how it will affect the City of Georgetown. 880046 Election Law Update/Leta Willough Leta Willoughby discussed some of the major changes in the Election Code. 880047 Consideration of and Possible Action on a Resolution Regard Weir Negotiations/Subcommittee Motion by Councilmember Laubach and second by Councilmember King to authorize the Mayor to execute and the City Secretary to attest the City of Georgetown's agreement with the City of Weir; and if the City of Weir has not ratified this agreement by February 19, 1988, the Mayor is authorized to begin legal proceedings. 02/03/88 ----- council meeting(csf feb03.min) page 1 of 3 E\0S ED MOTION: LAUBACH SECOND: KING MOTION CARRIED: UNANIMOUS (ATTACHMENT N0. 1) 880048 Consideration of and Possible Action on Authorizing the Execution of an Agreement with Bickerstaff, Heath & Smil For Representation Before the Texas Water Commission Re: Wastewater Permit Application/Bob Gaylor Motion by Councilmember Laubach and second by Councilmember Lackey to authorize the execution of an agreement with Bickerstaff, Heath & Smiley for legal representation before the Texas Water Commission re: Wastewater Permit Application; and if expenses exceed $25,000.00, Council review and approval will be necessary. MOTION: LAUBACH SECOND: LACKEY MOTION CARRIED: UNANIMOUS (ATTACHMENT N0. 2) 880049 Consideration of and Possible Action on a Resolution Supportin the Need for a Frontage Road Along IH35/Bob Gaylor Motion by Councilmember King and second by Councilmember Laubach to approve and adopt Resolution No. 880049, MOTION: KING SECOND: LAUBACH MOTION CARRIED: UNANIMOUS (ATTACHMENT NO. 3) 880050 Consideration of Develo Subdivision/Ed Barry t Agreements for Riveroaks Motion by Councilmember Laubach and second by Councilmember King to approve the development agreements subject to the letter of credit required by the Traffic Signal Agreement involving this development being submitted and approved by the City Attorney before a building permit is issued for the site work.
