TEXAS
The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas met in a Regular Session
on the above date at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Jim Colbert presiding. The
following members of Council and officials were present® Councilmembers Joan
King, rv-in—Lackey; Luther Laubach, Barbara Pearce and Mike McMaster, City
Secretary, Leta F. Willoughby, City Manager R. Bob Gaylor, City Attorney,
Diane Callander, Director of Finance, Gwen Sherman, Director of Community
Services, Hartley Sappington, Director of Planning and Development, Ed
Barry, Director of Public Works, Allyn Moore and Fire Chief, Les Bunte,
Councilmember Marvin Lackey was absent.

880168A Consideration of and Possible Action on Emergency Expenditure
for Emergency Repair of Auxillary Generator at the Wastewater
Plant
This item is posted as an emergency addendum to the agenda in
accordance with Article 6252-17, Section 3A (h), VATCS, in that this
matter is a reasonably unforseeable situation requiring immediate
action by the City Council.
Discussion followed by Councilmember Laubach regarding the
emergency.
Motion by Councilmember King and Second by Councilmember
McMaster to approve and authorize the Mayor to execute an
agreement to have the auxillary generator at the Wastewater
Plant repaired, and for the expenditure not to exceed
$25,000.00.

Motion by Councilmember King and Second by Councilmember Laubach
to approve the ordinance as read by Leta Willoughby,

880171 Presentations by Mayor Colbert
Mayor Colbert presented a plaque to outgoing Councilmember Joan
King and thanked her for her dedication and hard work for the
City of Georgetown for the past four years.
Councilmember Marvin Lackey was absent, but Mayor Colbert
recognized Mr. Lackey for his dedication and hard work on the
Council for the past two years.
880172 Swearing in of Mayor and Councilmembers
Municipal Judge Parker McCullough administered the oath of
office to Mayor Tim Kennedy and Councilmembers Ercel Brashear
and Doak Fling,
Mayor Tim Kennedy presented outgoing Mayor Jim Colbert with a
plaque and thanked him for his hard work and dedication to the
City of Georgetown over the past twelve years.

880174 Swearing in of Mayor Pro Tem

Pearce as Mayor Pro
Municipal Judge Parker McCullough administered the oath of
office to Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Pearce.
880175 Mayor and Council Comments and Reports
ADJOURNMENT:
Councilmember Laubach
commented on
the recent 911 workshop that
he had attended, he also
stated that he felt that the memorandum
to Jim Hightower was
out
of order;
and that he wanted affidavits
regarding the status
and
operation
of the Lakewater Treatment
Plant and the Wastewater
Treatment
Plant taken from former Mayor
Colbert, Allyn Moore,
Bob
Gaylor and Mr. Potter, by the close of
business on May 19th.
There being no further business to come before Council, Mayor
Kennedy adjourned the meeting.
A reception honoring the outgoing and incoming Mayor and
Councilmembers was held immediately following the meeting.
