The City Council of the City of Georgetown met in Special
Session on the above date at 6:30 P.M. with Mayor Jim Colbert
presiding. The following council members and officials were
present: Council Member Luther Laubach, Council Member Joan
King, Council Member Marvin E. Lackey, Council Member Barbara
Pearce, Council Member Mike McMaster, City Secretary Pat
Caballero, City Manager R. Bob Gaylor, Director of Finance
and Administration Gwen Sherman, Director of Community
Services Hartley Sappington, Director of Public Works Allyn
Moore, and Development and Planning Director Ed Barry,
870413. Workshop, Code/Nuisance Enforcement Policy, Hugh Anderson III
The City
Council held a Code/Nuisance Enforcement
Policy
Workshop.
Motion by Laubach and second by Lackey to
certify
that the
current nuisance laws are to be enforced
to
the
maximum.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Pearce and second by McMaster to approve
the
following
bills over $5,000. Voting went as follows:

870415. Texas Water Board Grant Study, Mayor Colbert
Motion by Laubach and second by Pearce to commit $31,000
from council contingency fund for 25% share of a regional
wastewater plant study to be conducted by Wallace, Winkler &
Rice, Inc. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
870416. Special Projects Sub -Committee Report and Action, Legal Staff
Recommendations, Council Members King/McMaster
Motion my King and second by Laubach that the council proceed
with their plan to employ a full time city attorney; that a
committee compose of the City Attorney, City Manager and 2
Council Members be authorized to advertise the availability
of the position; receive applications and after receiving
them make a recommendation of several potential candidates
for the full council to interview for final selection; and
further that the transition process will be developed by the
committee for full council approval. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.

Motion by Laubach and second by Lackey to adopt the following
resolution.
RESOLUTION NUMBER 870418.017
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXEMPTION OF PROVISIONS OF
ARTICLE 6701M-2, VERNON'S TEXAS CIVIL STATUTES (H.B. 1837
-MOTOR VEHICLES, IDENTIFICATION OF GOVERNMENT-OWNED OF
UNMARKED POLICE VEHICLES.
