The City Council of the City of Georgetown met in Regular
Session on the above date at 7:00 P.M. with Mayor Jim Colbert
presiding. The following council members and officials were
present: Council Member Luther Laubach, Council Member Joan
King, Council Member Marvin E. Lackey, Council Member Barbara
Pearce, Council Member Mike McMaster, City Secretary Pat

and submitted to the City Council for action by January 1,

approved to allow parking within the public right-of-way of
River Oaks Drive for a period not less than 15 years. In
granting this variance the Council finds that unique
circumstances exist on this site in the form of topographic
constraints imposed by the San Gabriel River and IH 35, and
also that this a temporary situation which will be altered
upon the construction of the east frontage road from Hwy. 29
to Williams Drive. Voting went as follows: yes: Laubach,
King, Pearce and McMaster; abstain: Lackey. Motion carried.
870409. Consider Contribution to Cost of MOKAN Study, Ed Barry
Motion by King and second by McMaster to contribute $25,000
to MOKAN Corporation for a portion of the cost of preparing
the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the MOKAN Parkway with
such funds being derived from the Utility Fund Contingency
Account. Voting went as follows: yes: King, Pearce and
McMaster; no: Lackey and Laubach. Motion carried.
