HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.07.1987 CC-SJulv 7. 1987 The City Council of the City of Georgetown met in Special Session on the above date at 5:00 P.M. with Mayor Jim Colbert presiding. The following council members and officials were present: Council Member Luther Laubach, Council Member Joan King, Council Member Marvin E. Lackey, Council Member Barbara cost of 10,000 tanks and proceed best suited for this particular Pearce, Council Member Mike McMaster, City Secretary Pat Caballero, City Manager R. Bob Gaylor, Director of Finance and Administration Gwen Sherman, Director of Community Services Hartley Sappington, Director of Public Works Allyn Moore, and Development and Planning Director Ed Barry, Consent Agenda: To approve consent items 870253, 870254 and 870255 as follows and to consider item 870256 separately. Motion carried by unanimous vote. 870253. Bills over $5,000, To approve the following bills over $5,000.00. Bay Maintenance Co. ..........................6..$1099778.95 Brazos River Authority ............................ 64,960.00 870254. Approve Underground Fuel Tank Project, Gwen Sherman of Gasoline Storage and To authorize the installation Inventory Control Facility at the new Public Works Location and instruct gallon tanks at his discretion the City Manager to the cost of as to which to 12,000 size compare gallon would the be cost of 10,000 tanks and proceed best suited for this particular installation. 870255. Approve Purchase of Hand Held Utility Meter Reading Devices, Gwen Sherman To authorize the purchase of three Hand Held Meter Reading Devices for a cost of $19,860. 870256. Award Used Roll -off Truck Bid, Terry Jones Motion by Lackey and second by King to reject the bid of The Garbage Gobbler for a Used Roll -off Truck and authorize the staff to continue to seek a used roll -off Truck and return to the City Council for final approval prior to any expenditures of funds. Regular Agenda: 870257. Proposal, Establishment of Tourism Development Board, Rick Eason The Council heard a report form Rick Eason on the subject of the establishment of a Tourism Development Board. Motion by Laubach and second by McMaster to table this matter until the July 28, 1987 Council Meeting at which time the council will consider a Chamber of Commerce tourism proposal. Voting went as follows: yes: Laubach, Pearce, and McMaster; no: King and Lackey. Motion carried. Century Plan Task Group Members, Mayor Colbert Mayor Colbert recommended the following persons be appointed to the following Century Plan Task Groups. Motion by King and second by Laubach to accept the Mayor's recommendations and confirm the appointments. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
