WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas is an incorporated Home Rule city
dependent upon taxes to provide its citizens with services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas published the required notice on
August 9; and
- tax rate being considered is below the effective rate and will not
generate additional tax revenue over the priGr year's revenue; and
WHEREAS, all notification and public hearing requirements have been satisfied;

WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to levy taxes for the 2009/10 fiscal
year for the City of Georgetown, Texas; and
NOW, • ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCILOF
GEORGETOWN,OF
SECTION 1. The factsandrecitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby
finds that this ordinance complies with the Vision Statement of the City of Georgetown
20^50 Comprehensive Plan.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown (the "City Council")
hereby finds that all of the prerequisites to the levying of a tax rate for this City for the
year 2009, (including,, without limitation, certifications, notices, submittals, and public
hearings) as required by law have been complied with.
SECTION- City Councildoes herebyand adopt the tax rate 00
valuation for the tax year 2008 as follows:

SECTION 4. If any section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or provision of this
Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the
validity of this Ordinance as a whale or any part or provision thereof other than the part
so declared to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective upon adoption of its second
and final reading by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
