B Discussion concerning the Regulation of the Sale of Alcoholic Beverages and Local Option Elections -- Jo Christy Brown Brown displayed the recently created alcoholic beverage regulations map commissioned by the County Clerk's office. She shared her research regarding the possibility of a local option election for liquor by the drink. She explained the six items of control that cities are allowed under the State Alcoholic Beverage Code. C Council Housekeeping Items: (1) Review/revise workshop schedule and council calendar (2) Update re. boards and commission rotations; schedules and methods for advertising, interviewing, and installation, and arrangements for banquet in the Spring There was discussion. (3) Redisricting information, including any follow-up from public hearing Lyda told Council that two additional plans were provided to Alan Bojorquez over the weekend for his review prior to being presented to Council for a decision on Tuesday night. (4) Review of personnel policy on tomorrow's agenda, if appropirate It was discussed that the ordinance will be on the agenda for first reading Tuesday night. (5) Discussion of timetable regarding filling city manager position Yantis answered questions for Council regarding the proposed timeline. (6) Airport tower contractor selection process Yantis suggested that Council select the contractor. Discussion of Upcoming Workshops - GISD and TxDOT workshops -- staff is working to schedule these workshops - Schedule of Boards and Commissions Joint Workshops with Council Feb. 11, 2002 - Economic Development Commission; March 11, 2002 - Planning and Zoning; April 8, 2002 - Parks and Recreation Schedule orientation as soon as possible after the appointments. 2. Council Calendar - Regular Council Workshop and Meeting on Tuesday, January 22, 2002 - Second Land Use Open House on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at St. Helen's - Recall Election Day on Saturday, February 2, 2002, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Library or GISD Admin Bldg. - Interviews of applicants for City Boards and Commissions on Monday, February 4; Tuesday, February 5; and Wednesday, February 6, 2002, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 9, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. to noon (if necessary) - Council Workshop and Executive Session on Monday, February 11, 2002 - Regular Council Workshop and Meeting on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 3.
