Council Presents Council Absent: Clark Lyda, Doug Smith, Jack Noble, Sam Pfiester, Llorente Navarrette Charles °Hoss" Burson, Ken Evans StaffPresent: Tom Yantis, Acting City Manager; Sandra Lee, City Secretary; Trish Carls, City Attorney; Micki Rundell, Director of Finance and Administration; Laurie Brewer, Controller; Travis McLain, Airport Manager __ PolicyDevelopment/Review %Called to order at 4mOO • A Joint Workshop/Training Session with the Airport Advisory Board to include a presentation regarding Georgetown Municipal Airport current issues (e.g., Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study, control tower, airport rates, and funding for the control tower -- Travis McLain, Laurie Brewer, Trish Carls, and Tom Yantis The following members of the Airport Advisory Board were in attendance: Chair Jerry Fye, Dennis Daly, Mark Dietz, Jeff Gilbert and Don Pfiester. Yantis introduced Nan Terry of the FAA and Michelle Hannah of TXDOT who offered to answer technical questions. Yantis explained that the workshop would involve a presentation and discussion of some of the major issues at the Airport. He gave the history of the City's participation in the Noise Compatibility Study, saying that the purpose of the Noise Study is to enable the City to participate in the receipt of noise mitigation funds from the FAA. There was discussion regarding the control tower, airport revenues and airport rates with comments and questions from councilmembers, members of the Airport Advisory Board and members of the audience. City Manager's Report Estimated costs of Airshow and Sertoma 4th of July Celebration City Council Meeting Minutes/April 22, 2002 Page 1 of 2 Pages Yantis reported that last year the Airshow cost the City $8,390 for City services and the 4th of July cost $6,000. However, for the 4th of July last year, they were not charged for any time from the Parks and Recreation or Fire Department staff. He said he estimates for this year that the 4th of July and Airshow will cost the City around $10,000 each.
