Note: There was no audio recording of this meeting. The minutes that follow are the only record of action. Regular Session — Called to Order at 6:00 p.m. Regular Agenda D Consideration of approval of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for a Criminal Justice Grant for our Police Training Facility and allocate cash matching from budgeted funds, not to exceed $40,000 Russell presented Council with information regarding a grant to fund the City's portion of the proposed Williamson County Law Enforcement Training Facility. Motion by Bain, second by Pfiester to approve the resolution. Approved 6-0. E Consideration of approving a contract with Williamson County to conduct a special election on March 24, 2001, if necessary, and the General Election on May 5, 2001 — Sandra D. Lee Motion by Hoyt, second by Pfiester to defer this item to the January 23, Agenda due to no instructions received from the Governor at this time to hold the special election on an emergency basis. Approved 6-0. F Consideration of approval of a resolution calling a Special Election on March 24, 2001, for the purpose of electing a Councilmember for District 7, if declared an emergency by the Governor of Texas; ordering a runoff election, if necessary; and establishing procedures for said election -- Sandra Lee Regarding the Special Election, Kersch shared information received in a letter from attorneys representing Councilmember Tonn. She requested a motion to defer the item. Motion by Bain, second by Burson to defer this item to the agenda for the January 23 regular Council Meeting due to no instructions received from the Governor at this time to hold the election on an emergency basis.
